A great experience, if you can pardon the plot.

"...in the business of RPG's; Torchlight had a lot to live up to. The question is…does it do the genre justice in the already crowded catalogue of Diablo clones? ===Story=== Correct me if I'm wrong, but most people don't play these kinds of games for the story.

Great visuals; gameplay and soundtrack

Weak story; no online support

Torchlight

And there are even a couple of "wait, there's more" kickers. Along with being one of the best action RPGs to hit the PC in many moons, Torchlight is selling for just $19.95, and it comes with absurdly undemanding system requirements along with a netbook mode so that you can play it on just about any...

Great use of the standard action RPG formula; Atmospheric dungeons; Good monster variety; Fantastic musical score; Outstanding loot drops

No multiplayer; Does very little that's new

Torchlight Review

You don't need to wait for Diablo III. Fans of action-oriented role-playing can get a first-rate fix of hacking and slashing right now in Torchlight, a great dungeon crawl from the designers of the first two Diablo games and the cult hit Fate.

No multiplayer; Does very little that's new

Torchlight

It's been a great month for the loot-hungry among you. Borderlands exploded onto the scene with a policy of "Diablo with guns", meeting with much success in the interim. Now Runic Games – a new team made up of former Blizzard North employees, who worked on the original Diablo – bring us action-RPG...

Best Diablo Clone Ever!

If you have played Torchlight then you don't need me to tell you how addictive it is. For those of you who haven't, or are inclined to ask "Torch what?", by all means stop reading this and go buy Torchlight today (www.torchlightgame.com). It's that good.

Torchlight

Beneath the quaint mining town of Torchlight lies endless amounts of a highly desired resource known as Ember. While the warmth and illumination of the town's torch centerpiece may act as a beacon of hope and prosperity, the threat posed beneath the rural outpost is one of pure evil, as any...

The In-Between of Diablo 2 & 3

Hack-&-Slash with ease. Easy to learn interface, nice polygon graphics, vast modding potential, low PC requirements and cheap.[...]While I wait for D3 from Blizzard, this should keep me busy for a long time.

Challenging; Easy to Learn; Gameplay; Graphics; Great Sound

No Multiplayer Mode; No Online Play

Developed by Runic Games, Torchlight is the latest game to join the semi-popular Diablo-like genre. For those not in the know, the genre can be summed up in one of two ways, depending on the perspective of the player at the time.

GAME REVIEW – Torchlight (PC)

If you'd have told me that a game with system requirements so low that a Casio pocket calculator could probably run it outsold the indomitable Modern Warfare 2 , I would have probably given you a bit of a slap and told you to stop telling porkies. But apparently it's true!

Review – Torchlight

I don't think I mind the idea of constant clicking and small bursts of instant gratification, provided they have something of a point. For example, I wouldn't mind rapid bouts of clicking on enemies to ensure that my attacks or strategies have the best chance of working.
