Diablo Called, He Wants His Game Back

One of the great things about being a gamer is that, no matter how long you've been playing games, no matter how many titles you lay to rest, there's always something new around the corner that can surprise and entertain you. Unfortunately, Torchlight is not one of those games.

Torchlight

I began playing Torchlight on XBLA at about ten o'clock in the morning, which was the first time I'd ever touched the game. I rolled up a Vanquisher, explored the mines, did a couple of side quests, and started feeling like I had a good handle on its systems and gameplay.

And there are even a couple of "wait, there's more" kickers. Along with being one of the best action RPGs to hit the PC in many moons, Torchlight is selling for just $19.95, and it comes with absurdly undemanding system requirements along with a netbook mode so that you can play it on just about any...

Great use of the standard action RPG formula; Atmospheric dungeons; Good monster variety; Fantastic musical score; Outstanding loot drops

No multiplayer; Does very little that's new

Torchlight Review

You don't need to wait for Diablo III. Fans of action-oriented role-playing can get a first-rate fix of hacking and slashing right now in Torchlight, a great dungeon crawl from the designers of the first two Diablo games and the cult hit Fate.

Diablo III isn't going to be released in 2010, and odds are it'll be deep into 2011 before Blizzard pushes their RPG onto store shelves. This poses a bit of a problem for many gamers, who expected the developer to have the product finished much earlier, and built a PC or Mac the moment the game was...

Torchlight

The fact that Torchlight plays a lot like the Diablo games is no coincidence; the designers behind Torchlight were also the creative minds behind Diablo and Diablo II. The Diablo games certainly inspired a lot of clones that paled in comparison to the originals, but Torchlight comes from the people...

I miss the dungeon crawlers on the PC and with no real Dungeons & Dragons game available or more specifically Diablo III , what is a gamer to do? The answer is Torchlight ! If you've seen the trailer or the screenshots for Torchlight , than you may be thinking that this is a Diablo clone but with...

Beneath the quaint mining town of Torchlight lies endless amounts of a highly desired resource known as Ember. While the warmth and illumination of the town's torch centerpiece may act as a beacon of hope and prosperity, the threat posed beneath the rural outpost is one of pure evil, as any...
