An excellent remake

Not too short for the money, or maybe I'm terrible at puzzle solving. Definitely a must have for any switch library

Old classic becomes future classic.

This is how you do a remake! Every pixel of the Game Boy original has been redone in a new, almost model/Amiibo looking style that just oozes charm. Fans of the original or Link to the Past will love this. I couldn't recommend it more for all Switch owners.

The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening review

Compared to the endless hours of exploration in Breath of the Wild, Link’s Awakening is relatively short. That makes it rather pricey when the original is going for a few quid on the 3DS Virtual Console, or you could just as well play A Link to the Past via the Switch Online service. Nonetheless, this lovingly crafted remake scratches the itch for Zelda fans who’ve missed good old-fashioned dungeons. And if you’ve never played Link’s Awakening, then you owe it to yourself to experience one of the finest of the 2D entries at its most weird and wonderful.

The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening is an excellent remake of an already enamoured classic, translating its unorthodox approach to a traditional Zelda outing into the modern day with absolute ease. Even after two decades and change, it still plays like a dream and looks even better thanks to its adorable diorama visuals.

Breath of the Wild brought many new people to the Zelda franchise. Now Nintendo is bringing classic Zelda to the younger generation. Link’s Awakening is a fine choice to show people the intricacies of classic Zelda gameplay, in a package that's easily accessible for newer players whilst also being a trip down memory lane for long time fans.

Good but not perfect

Noticeable framerate stutter at times regardless if playing docked or handheld. Still, it feels like a classic top-down Zelda game, tried and true. Adorable art direction.
