The Last Remnant Review (PC)

The turn-based gameplay, which has become the norm for many RPGs, is full intact in the Last Remnant and, as I mentioned earlier, has been up scaled to a pretty impressive level. By the time you finish the game, you'll have controlled entire armies in your quest to save your sister.

The Last Remnant Review

The Last Remnant was a blessing to play, especially after my last review. While the graphics had many frame rate and texture popping issues, they were just stunning. Luckily, the PC version of the game corrects most of these issues and even adds some additional features.

Completely Average

Completely average game, nothing special about it at all. If you really are a fan of Square Enix than by all means buy this game. If not, well there are better alternatives.

Game looks good; Solid game hours (meaning the actual storyline minus side quests takes a bit of time to do)

For an RPG, you don't do too much exploring as you will spend 90% of the time in battle; Oversimplified battle system; Aside from setting formations, battles require next to no skill

'The Last Remnant' (PC)

It's hip to be Square when it comes to role-playing games…Square Enix, that is. The company has consistently delivered superlative RPGs for three decades now, and although this genre is not for everyone, few can deny it its place in the annals of gaming history.

The Last Remnant Review

We gave 360-exclusive Japanese role-playing game The Last Remnant a 7/10 review score back in November last year. We praised it for its interesting combat system and occasionally impressive graphics but, ultimately, the game was let down by crippling performance issues and a distinct lack of...

"Best Square Enix game"

The Last Remnant is about an 18 year old brother whose sister gets kidnapped, and he wants to find her so bad. The battle system is great – you can have up to 15 party members at one time – not like Final Fantasy. The weapons are great.

Great game, shame about the main character.

This game features great looking characters, landscapes and amazing special effects. The battle system is unique but easy to get used to. However, the game is by no means easy as the battles, especially at later stages in the game, require much thinking and strategy.

Test The Last Remnant PC

Wherein Japan acknowledges computers.

The world of JRPGs on the PC is a barren, desolate place. Nearly every entry into the genre seems to be riddled with bugs, awkward controls, and a generally underwhelming presentation that makes one wonder why anyone would even bother.

Review – The Last Remnant

I'm still not entirely sure how I feel about The Last Remnant. On the one hand, its Akitoshi Kawazu pedigree shines through, with an incredibly nuanced battle system that never fully makes up for its terrible plot.
