Bought this at the request of my 13 year old son as he wanted it. He seems to enjoy playing it. He's certainly not complained about it or asked to trade it in yet so that's usually a good sign of a good game!

good
This game has a lot of glorified violence toward other "in-mates" and Security Guards. You have to make weapons to "protect" yourself, and there is very suggestive talk through out especially in the shower. Not a great game for the younger kids.
it was a great game overall just no multiplayer if it had that would be five star
The Escapists is a quite challenging game with some great ideas scattered throughout, but sometimes feels lacking in execution. Adding in RPG elements was a wise decision by the developer, interweaving it with the overall puzzle gameplay of trying to escape each prison.
The Escapists is a pretty straightforward game in terms of story. Players take control of a randomly generated (and even customisable) prisoner. The goal is simple – to escape from different prisons by any means necessary. There's really not much more to it.
Genuinely tense; Cute aesthetic; Clever concept
Very unforgiving
Aw here it goes! Kenan: Kel, I'm going to need some chicken wire, some beeswax, a rooster, a few rolls of toilet paper, and a 5-Iron. We're busting out of prison today! Kel: Aw here it goes! It's a puzzle game, plain and simple, with old school JRPG-like menus to boot.
In The Escapists, your goal is really quite simple: escape. With that little goal in mind, you are turned loose, or as loose as you can be while in prison, to devise just how you're going to accomplish it. However, you have to be extremely careful about how you go about that accomplishment.
The Escapists is a downloadable only video game on the Personal Computer (Steam), and Xbox One. Family Friendly Gaming was provided a copy of The Escapists on the Xbox One. The Escapists has a top down view like The Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past.

Deep crafting system; Fun; creative sandbox; Palpable tension; Functional design
A little too repetitious; Extremely hard; Punishing mistakes
