Terraria Review

Imagine what Minecraft might be like if it had been made with pixel art sprites and released in the SNES era. That sums up the overall vibe of Terraria pretty well. It also explains why I just can't seem to tear myself away from the darned thing.

Terraria

A Minecraft-alike but with RPG elements. A must-buy indie title with huge value for money.

Terraria

While it might be tempting to dismiss Terraria as a simple 2D Minecraft knockoff, its heavy focus on sidescrolling combat, boss fights, and crazy weaponry reveals just as large a debt to classics like Metroid and Castlevania.

Amazing...

This is a product you would buy for $70. The game itself is comparable to Minecraft. It comes with exclusive Dirt and Blue Slime art cards. Also has a double sided poster. It also has an exclusive Bunny character. This for the PC, the greatest gaming platform. I would totally recommend this.

Lack of tutorial, buggy netcode and wobbly combat aside, its hard not to love the sense of wonder and discovery

Terraria Review

You can't start talking about Terraria without mentioning Minecraft, the word-of-mouth sensation that's captivated audiences worldwide. Minecraft is about mining, building and exploring a randomly generated world, like virtual Legos.

Terraria Review (PlayStation Vita)

I rationally know that if I venture too far or insist on exploring at night, I will get eaten by some powerful and brutish creature, but there's so much 2D space to cover and dominate that Terraria instills a spirit of exploration that's never fully satisfied.

+ Occasions for creativity; + Art style

- Can become frustrating; - The tutorials are not very helpful

Terraria

The statement is reductive, but true: Terraria is a two-dimensional Minecraft . The game plops you into a randomly generated world-a side-scrolling cross-section of planet with woods and water on the crust and a labyrinth of caves beneath.

Terraria

"Part of the beauty of a game like this is that there really is no direction..." "...it's going to be awfully hard, even this early in the year, to find a downloadable game that can offer this much content."

Absolutely tons to do; Everything can be mined; chopped; and rebuilt; New content for PC expatriates

Early game is a drag; Occasional slow down; Crafting without a mouse
