Technics EAH-AZ80 review: A confident, refined pair of earbuds
There's no two ways about it - Technics has done a great job with the tuning of the EAH-AZ80, and they present themselves as a real contender in this busy part of the market. They still can't scare off the biggest contenders when it comes to noise cancellation, but from a music perspective they are confident, detailed and expressive, and only that play-it-safe treble takes a bit of shine from an otherwise assured performance.

The true wireless Technics EAH-AZ80 earphones offer pleasing sound, good noise cancellation, and excellent codec support, though they don't quite outmatch similarly priced competitors. Technics’ flagship EAH-AZ80 true wireless earphones offer effective active noise cancellation (ANC), an adjustable sound signature, and excellent connectivity options, but they face tough competition in light of their $299 price. The company's EAH-AZ60M2 earbuds ($249), for instance, give you all the same features (including LDAC support) and cut costs by swapping the 10mm drivers for slightly less capable 8mm ones.
