That's the only lens I bought along with a A7III body and it does the job amazingly. I don't think it can be beat for the price, for now!!

While mirrorless systems have been around for quite some time, the uptake by the "big 3" third-party lens manufacturers was neither fast nor overly broad. Of course, in the end, it is a number game.

As I write this review, the Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III RXD Lens is the #1 best-selling lens at B&H where, nearly a year after its announcement, it remains out of stock. I would say that you could only live with this lens. It is a fast lens with fast autofocus. The compatibility with Sony e-mount cameras is really good. It is not that heavy even when is kind of a big lens.

The build quality of this lens is ok but not very well. It feels cheap. Autofocus is exceptionally silent and relatively fast in my experience. The lens had some issues with the autofocus on Sony cameras. This problem was solved by a firmware update. The image quality is great.

Pre-ordered the lens and finally got this about 2 weeks ago. After giving my self some time to test. I can say this lens is amazing. Great all around lens! Super sharp at 3.5 with amazingBokehand still really good at F8 - F16 for landscape work.

One word: AMAZING considering the price and rendering performance. Caution: low light/underexposed focusing is not as good as on native Sony lenses.

The lens actually is better than expected. I've noticed that it's been my go to in every situation that suits me for the last couple of weeks now. If you haven't played around with it, you should. Sharp, fast focus.
