Sony Alpha mirrorless camera owners are lucky. Tamron offers a growing number of prime and zoom lenses to fit the Sony E-mount, from a 20mm f/2.8 ultra-wideangle to this ultra-telephoto zoom. We’ve evaluated several and the results have been consistently outstanding.

Tamron 150-500mm f/5-6.7 Di III VC VXD - Review / Test Report
Third-party vendors have a difficult task when it comes to super-tele zoom lenses in Sony E-mount. There's a behemoth in town - the Sony FE 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 G OSS. For many wildlife photographers, this lens alone is a reason for choosing Sony over other brands.

Tamron 150-500 mm f/5-6.7 Di III VC VXD
I don't doubt that the tested lens complements the market offer quite well, especially if you don't need the 600 mm focal length. Instead you get noticeably lower weight and dimensions. You can also save several hundreds $, not a trifle.
Pros:
- very good image quality in the frame centre across the whole focal range,, good image quality on the edge of the APS-C sensor,, negligible longitudinal chromatic aberration,, slight lateral chromatic aberration,, imperceptible spherical aberration,, moderate astigmatism,, sensible coma correction,,...
Cons:
- too weak image quality on the edge of full frame at the maximum focal length,, too high pincushion distortion in the middle of the focal range,, distinct vignetting on full frame,, significant "breathing".

Tamron 150-500mm f/5-6.7 Di III VC VXD (A057) Lens Review
I like this lens, and am pleased with the images that it has made possible. It handles well, and the results are sharp, with some absolutely gorgeous bokeh, despite only having 7 diaphragm blades.

Pros:
- Excellent telephoto optics, Dust, moisture, and fluorine protection, Lockable zoom clutch, Tripod collar with Arca foot, Superb stabilization, 1:3 macro focus, Available for Fuji, Nikon, and Sony cameras
Cons:
- Doesn't work with teleconverters, Dim aperture limits low-light use, Doesn't support full burst rate of some Sony cameras

Tamron 150-500mm f5-6.7 Di III VC review
Tamron has added an interesting alternative for Sony Alpha mirrorless and Fujifilm X-mount camera owners looking for a super-telephoto zoom: Their 150-500mm f5-6.7 Di III VC is pretty compact and much cheaper than Sony's and Fujifilm's own 100-400mm and 150/200-600mm lenses.

Cons:
- External zoom is not as reassuring in harsh weather, Lens hood is slow to attach properly, Zoom locking mechanism is easy to engage by accident, Not compatible with teleconverters
