Implemented a second layer firewall using this unit for my home network. Serves as DCHP server to my LAN. Access controls are outstanding. 1Gb straight through so Internet accessing is also improved. Unlike most routers, it runs cold. Well recommended.

I bought this unit on the say of several friends, but found that it has poor installation instructions. After two failed attempts to make it work its now sitting in the box with the Old 10/100 unit still doing the job. I've been unsuccesful in getting company help so far.

- Short 14-character limit for user name and password (for accessing administration). (In the security world, 14 characters is a joke.

- Fairly simple and organize administrator interface; (Similar in rating to other brands; nothing really special.

- Poor stability; must reset once a week or you will not be able to access Internet

VPN for 10/100/1000 network not using WiFi this and cat6 cable i get 1G from my Cable Modem thru my home network.

If you need a gigabit wired connection then this one is enough. Upgrade the firmware before you run it. If you have existing wireless N router just connect it to this unit and its good to go. Superb speed..

I have used the product for years without any problems, so the product is solid. Recently I got fiber to the premise and it can't handle anything faster that 280 Mbps download :( FALSE ADVERTISING!

Lots of function. Good purchase. I have 2 complaints. First, I expected a hardware version 4 but received a version 2 with its latest firmware. TP-Link appears to not do much in firmware upgrades for down level hardware, therefore the version 2 firmware is not anywhere near the latest firmware...
