Nice adopter. Being multi band

Nice adopter. Being multi band, the price is slightly on higher side. Its connectivity with my ADSL2 dual band Router modem TP Link D2 AC750, connectivity is very good. I am getting 1.7 Mbps on 5 Ghs band with channel setting on 48.

This adaptor out of the box is not configured for Windows 10. Unfortunately I didn't realise that for the first two times I installed, uninstalled and then installed again. I had to go the manufacturers website and manually install the driver / utility for windows 10.

"Way faster internet speed"

This increased the internet speed on my computer, and all I had to do was plug it in and I could start using it

Great item

Moving a desktop pc to another room which was previously connected to the router via a cable.

Had to return. Once the unit was set up, my dead zones showed full bars but nothing would load. It was as if I was getting a false signal. HD gave full refund.

Slower performance

I tested this wireless adapter on a Lenovo ThinkPad 460s using the USB 3.0 port (SS) using whatever the default Windows 10 driver is. The Adapter came with a CDROM, but my laptop doesn't have a CD drive, so I didn't test with the TP-Link drivers, which may be why my bandwidth is slow.

Compact; Easy To Set Up

Slow

Linux -works fineafter installing driver

Unlike Windows 10, it's not plug&play in Linux Ubuntu 18.04, but works fine after installing driver for Realtek RTL8812AU chipset. This requires internet connection by other means, such as ethernet cable.

Powerful antenna and good speed

I bought this wi-fi adapter specifically because my existing one was not getting a very good signal from my wireless router. It was not feasible to move the router or the computer, thus the need for a more powerful adapter. The minute I installed this wifi adapter the difference was obvious.

Easy to Use; Features; Performance; Quiet

Expensive; physically large; not feasible to use with a laptop

Keeps Dropping Signal

I originally bought this in an attempt to not snake a Ethernet cable around my house to my HTPC but the dongle drops connections every five to ten minutes. I tried to troubleshoot it and the dang thing refuses to stay connected. Ended up snaking the cable after all.
