Great performance, but needs reboot every few days
This model has better 5-GHz coverage than the TP-Link N600 router. The 2.4 GHz WiFi has the best coverage in my house. The 5-GHz WiFi could not cover 60 feet range with multiple walls and floors. So, I have to rely on the 2.4-GHz link for my mobile devices.
Highly recommended if you have internet speed above 50Mbps or need for high-speed SOHO LAN
Writing the review after using the product for about a month. PROS: * I get excellent speeds on both 11n and 11ac frequencies about 150Mbps (tested on a Inspiron N4110 Laptop) and 433Mbps (tested on OP3T / iPhone 5S / iPad Air 2) respectively when near or about a brick wall away from the router.
Great value
Great value. Probably the best dual band router at this price point. It covers my 2400 sq ft house well. Firmware upgrade is somewhat cumbersome. Most routers do this automatically nowadays. I have to go to the TP-LINK website and download the correct firmware.
This is a very good router.
The product is of an excellent quality and inexpensive… very easy with installation and operations. It is better than the Verizon's router of the same characteristics, but is costs 2.5 times less. I recommend customers of Verizon's FIOS give back to Verizon their router and buy/use this router.
TP-Link Archer C7 Review: Decent Performance for a Low Price
Costing $89.99, price is the object with TP-Link's economical Archer C7 router. It may lack some frills, such as automatic firmware updates or the latest technology for efficiently managing network traffic, but the router is a midrange performer that includes a pair of USB ports and the ability to...- Good 5-GHz performance for price
- Two USB ports for connecting peripherals
- On/Off switch for wireless transmissions
- Parental controls for restricting Web surfing
- USB ports use slower 2.0 spec
- Subpar performance on the 2.4-GHz band
TP-Link Archer C7 Wi-Fi Router, Dual-Band Wireless-AC1750, 4 x GLAN, 1 x WAN, 1 x USB2.0
This is a great router, when it's working right. It has a good range of features and options. The wireless performance is quite good. BUT, the 5GHz network periodically just fails under load. Restarting the 5GHz network seems to only be achievable through a power cycle.
TP-Link Archer C7 AC1750 Dual Band Wireless AC Gigabit Router
At $99.99, TP-Link's Archer C7 AC1750 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router (V2) is an affordable router that performs like a more expensive one. Its scores in our 2.4GHz and 5GHz throughput tests were significantly faster than the competition, and it offers a nice feature set, including four Gigabit...- Affordable price
- Very fast throughput performance
- Easy to install
- Lots of management settings
- Clunky user interface
- Middling file-transfer speeds
- Only USB 2.0 ports
Very Weak WiFi signal
My old router has no antenna still I got a full Wifi signal everywhere in my house, although this router has these 3 anthenas it dosen't have a good coverage. The USB port to hook a ard drive is very usefull, but, it's really slow!!
Not a good value
Its not what everyone thing its not as fast as you thing.Linkeys N600 is faster then TP-LINK's Archer C7.The speed in not fast like it say on the boxs.
Do Not Buy
