The perfect device to sync files from multiple computers and distribute media around the home. The extra processing power and DDR4 memory elevate network write performance, but the amount of RAM isn’t enough to fully exploit the excellent range of applications.

Great first NAS server - has everything you need. Synology's package centre allows you to download and install apps which makes life easier too. I've installed and setup Cloud Sync which allows scheduled backups to Amazon's S3, Google Drive, Dropbox, Azure etc..

Bought this with a couple of NAS drives at the same time. Easy to unbox and install. Point your web browser at the right address and you're away laughing.

Have owned for two weeks, so far so good. Using for back up storage, VPN and Plex (up to 1080p). Easy to setup and the software is great. Very quiet. Was considering purchasing the next Synology model up but (so far) glad I didn't spend the extra, appears it would have been a waste of money.
