MUCH BETTER THAN ORIGINAL VERSION

MUCH BETTER THAN ORIGINAL VERSION. AI IS UNREAL WITH NO LIMITATIONS. TECH TREE ALLOWS MORE CUSTOMIZED SHIP DESIGNS PLUS RACE SPECIFIC TECHS. THIS IS 100% INPROVEMENT. I HAVE TO FIGHT TOOTH AND NAIL FOR EVERYTHING.

The developers at Kerberos Productions bring us Sword of the Stars: The Pit, and it's expansion ‘Mindgames' - an action roguelike with a neat sci-fi flair. Sword of the Stars: The Pit

Good: A solid game that definitely has an audience. Might lack replay value, could be too short or there are some hard-to-ignore faults, but the experience is fun.

A lot of fun to play either alone or multiplayer although multiplayer can be quite slow. Simple game play, not a lot of "wow" factor to be found, but solid. Each expansion added meaningful improvements to game play.

Sword of the Stars: The Pit: Mindgames (PC) Review

I'm not sure what it is about roguelikes that seizes my brain, but it is undeniable. I've logged more hours than I care to admit on nethack, Binding of Isaac, and Dungeons of Dredmor.

Sword of the Stars: The Pit

In space, no one can hear you scream. In your living room, however, your neighbours probably can, so don't..

Sword of the Stars: The Pit Review (PC)

I sprint through the rooms I have already explored, remembering how two crates of ammo locked up before my eyes despite my high skill level, and stumble into an area I have not yet cleared.

+ Roguelike structure; + Variety

- Lack of story; - Limited innovation
