Sony ZV-E1 review

The Sony ZV-E1 is excellent for vlogging and will impress anyone who wants to create great looking videos. Cinematic image quality, options aplenty and killer autofocus and stabilisation make it a stunning all-round movie machine – and a compact one at that.

Superb all-round video quality, Good stabilisation and autofocus, Compact and weatherproof body, You want a small but mighty video machine : Squeezing a full-frame sensor into such a small body is no mean feat, and while concessions have been made, none feel like deal breakers.

No viewfinder, No cooling system, No mechanical shutter, You want a true hybrid camera: With still photography less important than video here, a model like the A7S III – which has a viewfinder and mechanical shutter – might suit hybrid content creators better.

Sony ZV-E1 review

While it's a shame that picture and sound quality haven't been upgraded, the iPhone 13 was great in these regards and the iPhone 14 is, too Excellent display Admirable headphone performance Solid build quality No upgrades to picture or sound Familiar design Notch is still present

Sony ZV-E1 review

More like an iPhone 13S. The generational upgrades for the iPhone 14 are limited to a few subtle changes. At the same time, however, the base price climbs to 800 USD, while the only true innovation happens inside the iPhone 14 Pro series.

excellent OLED display, dust- and waterproof, fast Wi-Fi, wide range of supported frequencies, great camera, very fast performance, good battery life

display limited to 60 Hz, charging rate limited to 20 watts, no macro lens, wide notch

Sony ZV-E1 review

The ZV-E1 becomes Sony’s most powerful consumer camera aimed at video content creators, delivering the quality and frame rates of the A7S III in a smaller, more affordable body with the benefits of genuinely improved stabilisation, a better quality built-in mic, and a bunch of cunning modes to make...

Sony ZV-E1 review

Sony's flagship ZV camera combines the power and capabilities of a full-frame Alpha camera with the portability and features from its creator range to great effect.

Compact and portable design, Fantastic autofocus performance, Great battery life and convenient charging, Much more user-friendly than Alpha cameras

It's expensive, Only one SD card slot

Sony ZV-E1 review

The tiny Sony ZV-E1 is the most capable ‘vlogging’ camera available, and is overkill for most content creators, but it will likely surface on more serious video productions too, thanks to its clean 4K video image quality in any light, plus superb in-body image stabilization and autofocus.

Cheapest way to get the Sony A7S III sensor, Makes high-quality vlogging as simple as possible, Great for handheld videos

Single SD card slot restricts video capabilities, Not a camera for heavy video use, Smart AI features are buried in menus

Sony ZV-E1 review

The Apple iPhone 14 is no match for the just-released iPhone 14 Pro, but if you ignore that, it’s one of the most effective phones around.

Great cameras, front and back, Fast performance, Good battery life, Innovative safety features

Design too familiar, Some average features

Sony ZV-E1 review

“The iPhone 14 isn't a huge upgrade compared to its predecessor. But with a great design, screen, performance, and cameras, that's far from a bad thing at all.”

Comfortable, high-end build, OLED screen looks fantastic, A15 chip performs great, Good camera upgrades, Dependable battery life, Helpful safety features

60Hz display, No telephoto camera, eSIM might be a pain for some

Sony ZV-E1 review

The iPhone 14 isn’t much of an upgrade over the iPhone 13, but it’s still a great device and an upgrade for anyone coming from the iPhone 11 or older.

Great camera, Good battery, Emergency features are cool, Still excellent performance

Display could use some upgrades
