Optimus G's IPS display is far better than this display

Sony brand and Ads are good so is the water/dust proof features but not the display . i feel this phone is just a copy of Optimus-G(E975 same hardware as Nexus4 ) . So better to buy E975 or if you have more money go for HTC one another option is wait for Nexus 5 / Optimus G Pro / G2 Google the...

Short life

It worked wonderfully until water found its way into the hole left by the separated glass, now the phone is completely dead. I'll miss having a water resistant phone, but if the craftsmanship is so poor that it falls apart from its own heat while under light to moderate use, no gaming whatsoever...

I have a previous review with quite a bit of praise of the phone; I loved every bit of it while it worked with the only complaint being the camera compresses the 13mp a lot

construction is not made to last, the phone runs pretty hot and it has managed to make the glue holding the back glass detach in under 3 months, and now there's a large gap leading right to the phone's internals; the water resistance is gone entirely.

The Sony Xperia Z is a coming of age for Sony Mobile. For the first time, the company's proved it can truly kick it with the big boys, with top notch specs and a top quality camera.

We've always had a soft spot for Sony's design - that obsession with black plastic and solid straight lines that somehow has come to embody design from the Japanese gadget giant.

Fair warning: while we like it, you might hate the design; If you prefer the sleek curves of the HTC One X' chassis, the boxy look of the Xperia Z may be the very opposite of what you're after.

Sony Xperia Z Review makes one thing very clear that latest in the Xperia series is an ultimate performer, offering a lot to the users. Available with HD display and features like water resistance, the phone certainly deserves the amount it costs.

Advanced processor; Excellent HD display; Latest OS; Water and dust resistant; Brilliant music quality

Average loudspeaker; Non-removable battery; Little bit thick & heavy

Sony Xperia Z Camera Review: Do impressive specs measure up?

The Sony Xperia Z is a powerful Android phone with a razor-sharp full HD screen. Its full-featured native camera app offers a lot of flexibility but could stand some refinement. The 13MP photos it captures are generally satisfying at web and screen resolutions, but closer examination reveals image quality that lags the best, with a lack of fine detail even in good light. A thin, hard-edged design and lack of a dedicated camera button make for unsatisfying photographic ergonomics. The Xperia Z is a very capable phone, but ardent mobile photographers may be better served by other options.

Good exposure in most situations; Decent flash performance; Attractive design and good build quality; Water- and dust-proof; Extensive manual control in camera app; Good responsiveness; Integrated HDR and panorama functions; Fast burst mode; HDR video mode; Very sharp screen; Micro-SD slot offers storage expansion;

Image quality lags the best in all conditions; Processing artifacts and strong noise reduction smear fine detail; Slightly soft video output; No hardware shutter button; Mediocre ergonomics; Camera app can be a little fiddly; Exposure can’t be linked to focus point; Mediocre screen visibility in bright light; Editor only saves low-resolution images;

Sony Xperia Z (T-Mobile)

T-Mobile customers now have an embarrassment of riches: In addition to the Samsung Galaxy S4 , HTC One and the iPhone 5 , the carrier now offers the Sony Xperia Z. Available for just $99 up front, Sony's latest smartphone sports a bright 5-inch 1080p display, two excellent cameras that can shoot...

Design shrugs off water; Excellent 13-MP camera; Floating apps come in handy; Vivid screen

Boxy design makes one-hand use difficult; Narrow viewing angles; Back gets hot; Slower CPU than HTC One and S4

Review: Sony Xperia Z - Rainproof Flagship

Much like the Nexus phones, the Xperia Z lacks capacitive menu navigation keys. The phone features a volume rocker, SIM card slot, and lock button on the right side. Unlike its cousin Xperia ZL, this phone doesn't feature a camera shutter.

Water and dust proof; Sleek design; Smooth UI; Impressive multimedia performance

Mediocre screen; Muffled sound in calls; Average camera; Uncomfortable for single-handed use

Sony Xperia Z

Sony hopes to tempt potential phone shoppers with the Xperia Z's unique mix of durability, sexy design, and a powerful camera. Now available for preorder at T-Mobile for $99.99 down (and 24 payments of $20 per month) and hitting stores on July 17, it's billed as the company's top mobile device and...

The Sony Xperia Z boasts a thin, attractive design that's also dust- and water-resistant; It's equipped with a big, bright screen and 4G LTE, takes great pictures, and has sharp call quality

The Sony Xperia Z's battery life is short, its camera is slow, and its processor is not as peppy as those found in other flagship phones; Its glossy chassis attracts fingerprints easily

Review: Sony Xperia Z

How many times a day do you touch the power button of your smartphone? According to Sony Mobile, the average number of button-presses is 76. No surprise, then, that the company has put so much engineering detail into that big, round, silver button sticking out of the right-hand side of the Xperia Z...

Dust and water resistant; Awesome screen, awesome camera; Connects to 4G LTE, HSPA+ and GSM networks; I'm awfully fond of that power button

Battery won't last more than six hours; "Stamina" mode helps, but making it all the way to bedtime is still a challenge; GPS is very slow; Port caps feels fragile
