Sony Xperia XZ2 H8296 6GB 64GB
The Sony Xperia XZ2 (H8296) is the just-released phone from Sony, and its big on display, performance and photographic quality.
A Big, Bold Display
The display on the Sony Xperia XZ2 is clear and easy to read, with a 5.7-inch IPS LCD touch display and top-notch screen resolution: 1080 x 2160p with 424ppi pixel density.
A Top Performer
The Sony Xperia XZ2 promises powerful multimedia, gaming and graphics performance, certainly the equal of many of the top smartphones on the market. This is made possible by a winning combination of Sony Triluminos and X-Reality Engine tech, and built-in Adreno 630 GPU and Qualcomm Snapdragon 845.
Feature Packed Cameras
Like any premium model, the X72 has a lot to live up to in the camera department and it doesn't disappoint with a powerful blend of quality cameras front and rear. The rear Motion Eye camera is a stunner, boasting a 19 MP sensor with predictive phase detection and Electronic Image Stabilization, particularly good for recording high-quality 4K video.
Sensational S-Force Sound
The Sony Xperia XZ2 doesn't just look good - it sounds good too! In this day and age when we're creating mini-movies on our smartphones, we need great audio to partner with the footage we shoot. The S-Force Front Surround stereo speakers on the Sony Xperia XZ2 deliver exceptional audio, certainly some of the best you'll hear in any smartphone.
Quick Charge Battery
The 3,180 mAh battery is big enough to provide ongoing use and can be quickly topped up with Quick Charge 3.0.

Sony Xperia XZ2 Smartphone Review
Oh, Sony... we want to praise your smartphones just because they are daring and you know how to present them well. But then we remember that you overlooked the trend for bezel-less smartphones and that you are now releasing a new phone that entirely ignores any design traditions of your brand.- blazing fast smartphone
- 60-fps gaming is possible
- bright display with vibrant colors
- main camera with numerous features..
- ...and really good image quality
- 3D scans are possible
- case protected according to IP68
- very exact touch input
- fast LTE with many bands
- exact GPS
- good hardware,...
- some bloatware apps
- prone to fingerprints
- fingerprint sensor can't be felt easily
- earpiece booms for loud voices
- moderate speaker quality
- relatively slow access to microSD
- situationally high power consumption
- relatively broad bezels
- no 3.5 mm jack
- throttling under load
Sony's Xperia XZ2 is a good phone for the spec-lover who wants some additional quirky features. While the overall experience is very good, a mediocre camera, strange design, and $799 price tag make this a hard sell for the average consumer.
- Fastest processor on the market Fantastic audio quality Fast charging and good battery life Good-looking HDR display Quirky niche features
- Sub-par cameras Questionable button placement Extremely slippery
If you like Sony phones, this one doesn't dissapoint
Phone is extremely nice and super fast. The design is nice as the slightly curved back rests comfortably in your hand. Sony also did a great job with the innovations of this phone as well, the fingerprint scanner is extremely responsive and barely takes any time to unlock the phone.
Sony Xperia XZ2 review: New design struggles to deliver the flagship goods
The redesigned shape and styling of Sony's flagship Xperia XZ2 handset will appeal to some, but I found it slippy to hold and prone to wriggling around on the desk. The camera promises much, but it's tricky to get the most out of 4K video or the super slow-motion mode.- Good performance
- Dual SIM or one SIM plus a MicroSD
- 4K video capture and super slow-motion mode
- 18:9-format screen
- Poor battery life
- Odd fingerprint scanner location
- Disappointing camera
HDR movies and TV shows The Sony Xperia XZ2 has one of the largest screens around. It measures 5.7" and has Full HD+ resolution. The display is of the new longer (18:9) types, which gives extra rows of pixels, so that you do less scrolling (2160 x 1080 pixels).
Sony Xperia XZ2 review
The Sony Xperia XZ2 is the Japanese firm's most recent flagship handset, but it refuses to follow in the footsteps of many of this year's top-tier smartphones.- Full day of life from a single charge
- Great sound quality
- Feature-packed camera
- Design not as desirable as rivals
- Dynamic Vibration a gimmick
- 'Only' full HD display
The Sony Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 Compact were launched at Mobile World Congress 2018 earlier this year. With an all-new design and top-end features, Sony's new flagship devices mark a stark departure aesthetically and ergonomically from its trademark blocky "OmniBalance" form-factor.
Sony Xperia XZ2 review: Better than the Galaxy S9?
Sony isn't afraid to push boundaries when it comes to its smartphones. IP-rated waterproofing, 4K displays, 960fps video capture and gigabit download speeds are just a few of the many innovations that Sony can claim to have introduced to the market – and there's another on the way.- Excellent new design
- Superb performance
- Long-lasting battery life
- Framerate issues with 4K HDR recording
The Xperia XZ2 has a number of desirable characteristics, but it's far from perfect. All that glass looks and feels beautiful, even if the fingerprint reader placement is a little off. The main camera takes pictures rich in detail and color.
Sony Xperia XZ2
The Xperia XZ2 is a key release for Sony that aspires to revitalise the company's smartphone image. In many ways, the Xperia XZ2 is a welcome change in the sea of monotony that Sony's smartphone division has released over the past few years.- Pretty design
- Solid performance
- Powerful speakers
- Camera not as good as rivals
- Lots of duplicate apps
