Excellent display with HDR and 4K. Likes the design on the phone. Personally, bez bezels are no worries. The phone is also really fast but a great camera with super slow motion. + battery time + good screen + camera with super slow motion
Sony Xperia XZ Premium review: Clever slow motion video isn't enough
The Sony Xperia XZ Premium is a good phone. It's powerful, well-made and has a high-end, impressive look that is often the kernel inside our desire to have a £650 phone when a £200 one would probably do the job just as well.- Bold look
- smarter camera than last year
- slow-motion video capture can be fun
- Photo quality
- 4K screen is a limited real-world benefit
- bulkier than its Android rivals
- unique features wanes rather quickly
Xperia XZ Premium Review: Insane 4K Display Can't Save This Sony
Sony's televisions and game consoles are incredibly popular, but its smartphones? Not so much. So the company went back to the drawing board with this year's model. The result, the $800 Xperia XZ Premium, combines the best of Sony's Bravia TVs and its PlayStation console.- Gorgeous 4K HDR display
- Bright screen shows off lots of colors accurately
- Solid front- and rear-facing cameras
- Powerful performance
- 4K content is limited at this stage
- No fingerprint sensor
- So-so battery life
- compared to other flagships
- Super-slow-motion feature feels like a novelty
Sony Xperia XZ Premium
This is Sony's headline phone for 2017 and, as you'd expect, it comes with all the top specifications. Like Sony's previous flagship, the , there's a 5.5-inch screen with 4K resolution and HDR (with a caveat, mind), and a Snapdragon 835 processor that can give rival handsets such as the , and a run...- Flagship performance
- High resolution display
- Decent speakers
- Dated design
- Uncomfortable to hold
- Slow-motion feature video is limited
Sony Xperia XZ Premium review: Impressive hardware with some shortcomings
Many people are loyal fans of the Sony brand, not just for their smartphones, but for their televisions, displays and image processors and sensors for cameras of all types. The Sony Xperia XZ Premium is the technological essence of almost all these areas.- High-quality manufacturing
- Slow-motion recordings up to 960 fps
- Very good performance
- Good camera
- Design
- Software still needs improvement
- Lacking content adapted to hardware
The Sony Xperia XZ Premium is the best 4K smartphone out there. That ultra-high resolution screen is pointless, and the handset is somewhat bulky, but it's hard to deny that it looks very good.
Sony Xperia XZ Premium review: a proper flagship from Sony
The Xperia XZ Premium is a glorious return to the flagship segment. While the headline grabbing features, such as the super slow motion camera, have, let's say, limited usefulness, the phone behind them is very competent.- Sharp
- colourful screen
- Solid build
- Fast
- Massive horizontal bezels
- Expensive
- Camera poor in low light
The problem with smartphones is that they need to stand out from the competition and sadly there is very little that compels me to go out and buy an XZ Premium.
Sony Xperia XZ Premium Review: The "Premium" segment struggle continues
The Xperia XZ Premium is surely one of the best smartphone from Sony in recent years. It offers a future-proof 4K screen, which is ideal for VR apps. Its multimedia performance is great. In good lighting conditions, the camera is good too.
Really, really good phone...
Well this is my third xperia and it's by far the best. This replaced my Z3, so it was a big jump in performance. They screen is awesome, especially watching video, and jaw dropping in 4k.
