Sony Xperia XZ Premium review: Clever slow motion video isn't enough
The Sony Xperia XZ Premium is a good phone. It's powerful, well-made and has a high-end, impressive look that is often the kernel inside our desire to have a £650 phone when a £200 one would probably do the job just as well.
Pros:
- Bold look
- smarter camera than last year
- slow-motion video capture can be fun
Cons:
- Photo quality
- 4K screen is a limited real-world benefit
- bulkier than its Android rivals
- unique features wanes rather quickly

Fantastic mobile!
Fantastic phone! Screen is out of this world! Camera is perfect! Operation is faster than most! In my view much better than Samsung A8. An absolute joy to use!

Sony Xperia XZ Premium
Sony's XZ Premium flagship has just about everything you could ask for from a top-end phone. A 4K display, insanely powerful processor and a unique super-slow motion camera all make this handset great. And yet I'm not completely smitten.
Pros:
- The Sony Xperia XZ Premium's awesome screen
- supercharged processor and unique slow-motion video mode rightly earn this phone its premium name
Cons:
- This is the same design premium Sony phones have used for years and it's starting to feel old and boring
- The limited camera interface makes the phone feel crude
- The fingerprint reader is turned off in the US

Excellent display with HDR and 4K. Likes the design on the phone. Personally, bez bezels are no worries. The phone is also really fast but a great camera with super slow motion. + battery time + good screen + camera with super slow motion
