Xperia XZ – Review. Is this Sony's best smartphone so far?
Sony has had an interesting year so far. It's seen the launch of several handsets, including two flagships – the Xperia X and Xperia XZ. The latter of these phones is the subject of this review. If you wish to find out a bit more about the former then I recommend reading my earlier review .

Sony Xperia XZ
The only reason you will buy this phone is if you are a Sony fan boy. When it comes to audio, camera and overall performance, there are better phones available for the same price point. The OnePlus 3 is a cheaper option, which feels more fluid, but has a simpler camera.
Pros:
- Beautiful display
- Elegant build
- Good gaming performance
- The camera clicks good images under ideal conditions
Cons:
- Lackluster speakers
- Inconsistent camera performance
- No more than 7 min of continuous 4K recording
- Placement of the volume rocker is inconvenient

Available from Telstra on a plans or outright from Sony for $999, the Xperia XZ is the company's latest flagship device and continues the tradition of the company pouring its best technology into one product.
Pros:
- Nice design
- brilliant camera
- Hi-Res audio
- PS4 Remote Play
- water resistant
- expandable memory
Cons:
- No Quad HD screen
- older version of Android
- expensive

Sony Xperia XZ
Sony needs to get it together. I've reviewed its phones -- from the top of the line down to the most basic -- for several years now, and I hate to see the Xperia family decline. Hard truth: It just can't keep up with its competitors. Take this "flagship" Xperia XZ, for example.
Pros:
- Sony's Xperia XZ looks good
- it won't die when you spill your drink on it and its bold screen makes mobile games look great
Cons:
- Its battery life doesn't impress, and nor does the camera
- Its full HD display isn't as high resolution as most of its rivals

Review: Sony Xperia XZ mobile phone
Kudos to Sony for its latest and best premium phone, the Sony Xperia XZ. It stands out. It actually looks different. I, for one, love it. Sony Xperia XZ – same photo at full resolution – still fine sharpness, some grain on out of focus leaves, captured an intruder at 1/320 sec
Pros:
- Strong overall performance
- Excellent fingerprint scanner placement
- Striking styling (I reckon
- Dust & water safe
- Fine camera
Cons:
- Striking styling (some of my family reckon

Still, Sony's unique approach to design helps the Xperia XA stand out, and if nothing else we're glad to see another relatively compact high-end smartphone hitting the market.
Pros:
- + Much better storage options
- + Dual-lens camera
- + Brighter
- more vivid display
Cons:
- - Design is looking slightly dated now
- - Awkward for wired headphone owners
- - Expensive

Sony Xperia XZ
At $700, the Sony Xperia XZ is priced like a flagship phone, but it can't match the premium experience of devices like the Samsung Galaxy S7. It lacks a fingerprint sensor, has a lower-resolution display, and mediocre battery life. The unlocked Galaxy S7 is a better pick all around.
Pros:
- Fast performance
- Solid camera
- Strong network connectivity
- Waterproof
Cons:
- Overheating issues in testing
- Mediocre battery life
- No fingerprint scanner
- Heavy UI layer

Review: Sony Xperia XZ
Should you buy the Sony Xperia XZ? As I mentioned, the Xperia XZ is a bit of a tough sell at $699. Sure it is flagship material, but it is also missing a great number of things that make other $699 smartphones worth the price. One is the display.
Pros:
- Build Quality
- Camera
- Battery Life
- Software experience
- Carrier Unlocked
Cons:
- Display
- Fingerprint magnet backside
- Omission of the fingerprint reader
- Position of the volume rocker and power button
- No CDMA support

Sony Xperia XZ in-depth review - More X and Less Zzz
I loved the Xperia X though I was in the minority, with spec snobs turning their noses up at it before even powering it on. Using the device was a joy and I was a massive fan of the evolved OmniBalance design but ultimately it was difficult to understand and confusing – Sony insiders told me that...
Pros:
- Audio prowess
- Flawless fingerprint scanner
- Impressive camera
- mostly
- Bright
- beautiful screen
Cons:
- Still not great low light photography
- Gets dirty quick
- Weird unfinished design elements
- Mediocre battery life

Sony may be done with the Z series, but the letter returns with the company's latest addition to their flagship X range, with the Xperia XZ . Introduced alongside the much smaller Xperia X Compact at IFA a little over a month ago, this high-end smartphone is Sony's attempt at finding a foothold once...
Pros:
- -Fantastic build quality
- Comfortable in hand feel
- Software is clean and easy to use
- Great camera
- MicroSD slot
- Hi-Res audio support
- Vibrant display
Cons:
