Sony's Xperia Go is a hardy mid-price Android smartphone that can take a fair bit of punishment and emerge unscathed. Constant travellers should consider it for the hardiness combined with the excellent battery life, although the signalling issues are a concern.
Pros:
- Tough design
- bright
- colourful display
- great battery life
- dual-core processor
Cons:
- Ancient OS
- iffy touch-screen
- signal drop-outs

Sony Xperia Go
The Android-powered Sony Xperia Go is among this new breed. If waterproofing is an absolute must, it's one of the most attractive models you can get, but that doesn't mean it doesn't come with a serious compromise or two.
Pros:
- Waterproof to 1m
- Good-looking design.
Cons:
- Unimpressive camera...

Sony Xperia Go review
As Motorola and Samsung have both proved, with the Defy range and Xcover Extreme handsets respectively, you don't have to wrap a handset in a bulky chassis for it to be classed as 'rugged'.
Pros:
- Some rugged features for outdoor use
- Small and light
- Poor screen
Cons:
- Average camera
- Short on internal storage
- Expensive

A Tough little thing
I had a Sony Xperia Go about a year a go and was generally very happy with it and only got rid of it as my partner was due an upgrade so I had his old iPhone. I would probably still have it now if it wasn't for that.
Pros:
- Small and tough
Cons:
- All a bit fuzzy

Sony Xperia go
Sony Xperia Ion – Another Sony handset, but this time one that's not water-resistant. If you're not really that bothered about being able to take your phone into the swimming pool for half an hour, then you're better off getting something like the Xperia Ion, which is a similar phone in terms of...

Sony Xperia Go review
The Sony Xperia Go wants to be the action phone in your life. It bears some of the hallmarks of Sony Ericsson, with that company's roundel on the rear, but otherwise comes decked out like the latest Sony Mobile devices.
Pros:
- Waterproofing
- nice design
- camera interface works nicely
- microSD card slot
Cons:
- Low screen resolution
- not hugely powerful
- software and user interface could be more up to date
