Sony Xperia Go review

Tough smartphones have a hard time of things. Despite their waterproof, dust-resistant designs they seldom prove mass market hits, as they can tend to be ugly, bulky and overpriced devices. Recently we're seeing things change, though.

Sony ST27i Xperia Go (Black)

"Good product for the price comparison-Good product for the price compare to other product in the same range. Battery is a concern but, that is always depends on how we use android apps in any phone. All are some what same battery usage.

Good phone but some downsides

This is a great phone, except it doesn't come with a front facing camera. Love the fact that its dustproof and water resistant and comes with scratch resistant screen. My problem when I got this phone was that it's headset didn't work with the phone which is both odd and frustrating since I use the...

Great value smartphone!

Shame about the lower than normal screen resolution but it is not a huge screen. It feels really good in the hand with this grippy texture (but not that soft grippy stuff that rubs off easily) and it has really good dual core CPU so it is great value spec wise.

Sony Xperia Go review: not for couch potatoes

An active lifestyle demands a certain type of smartphone. At least, that's what the product designers at Sony seem to think. Last year brought the Xperia Active, and now the Xperia Go has seen the light of day.

"Well the Xperia Go is certainly a disappointment and deffo doesn't warrant a £200 price point. It feels very cheap in the hand and it's finished in some matt effect plastic which picks up mark like a magnet and instantly looks like a worn handset.

It's a nice slim and slick smartphone which is dust and water proof, and yes you can completely submerge it in the water. BODY The camera can also record videos at 720p which is decent enough and the recording is pretty smooth including audio.

Review: Sony Xperia go

The phone is rugged, and manages to look trendy too. In fact, it looks like any other modern smartphone, which is big plus for a phone labelled "tough". (Remember how fugly the Motorola DEFY+ was?) The Xperia go's back panel is extremely sturdy, and all the ports are sealed by plastic flaps.
Pros:
  • Water- and dust-proof
  • Sturdy build
  • Sleek design
  • Impressive sound quality
  • Smooth UI
Cons:
  • Weak earpiece
  • no front-facing camera
