Sony Xperia Go
The Android-powered Sony Xperia Go is among this new breed. If waterproofing is an absolute must, it's one of the most attractive models you can get, but that doesn't mean it doesn't come with a serious compromise or two.
Pros:
- Waterproof to 1m
- Good-looking design.
Cons:
- Unimpressive camera...

The best value and most rugged Xperia of 2012
This understated little phone is a real gem, and an ideal take anywhere phone for those who are accident prone or style conscious. It has all the usual Sony smartphone features: decent (modest) 5mp camera with flash, wi fi, GPS, walkman music player (which, oddly for Sony, seems to play FLAC!

Sony Xperia Go review: Sony Xperia Go
Sony picks its market well, and creates a good phone for the outdoors type. The screen is on the small side, though, and there are a few common features absent. Most phones are for most people. Identifying yourself with a new handset is rather hard to do, which is also the reason why bedazzled Hello Kitty iPhone cases sell so well.
Pros:
- Excellent design for a rugged phone
- Zippy performance
- Some handy apps installed.
Cons:
- Small display
- Average battery life
- No front-facing camera.

Sony Xperia go Review: The Smartphone You Can't Kill
I'll admit that when Sony announced the Xperia go at IFA this year, I was excited. Sony promised me an indestructible device with a device that would also be cheap and cheerful. This wasn't the case, readers. This wasn't what we were promised.

Anti-aquaphobic: we review the Sony Xperia Go, a phone that likes water
Not everyone stays on dry land. Some people actively seek adventures and activities that take them into the water, and Sony has made a new phone just for those people, that won't, you know, stop working, when water comes in contact.
Pros:
- Able to survive the water
- something few touchscreen phones can do
- Reasonably inexpensive
Cons:
- Low resolution screen
- Mediocre battery life
- Signal drop outs and shifts to 2G were common

We often refer to the challenge of cheaper phones revolving around sacrifices, and we feel that Sony has made some excellent decisions here. The Xperia Go is a rare example of a phone that has been designed for a specific type of smartphone users, and we think it ticks the appropriate boxes.
Pros:
- Excellent design for a rugged phone
- Zippy performance
- Some handy apps installed
Cons:
- Small display
- Average battery life
- No front-facing camera
