Sony Xperia 5 III review

While I enjoyed using the Sony Xperia 5 III as my full-time phone, I didn’t find enough updates here to justify a purchase over last year’s Xperia 5 II. Its screen is slightly less responsive, while the handset also seems to heat up faster with the Snapdragon 888 chipset – and there’s no excuse for Sony to skip on wireless charging. On balance, I’d say look at last year’s model instead and save yourself some money.

Media machine; Impressive gaming support; Compact design; Photo Pro;

Expensive; No wireless charging; Heating issues;

Sony Xperia 5 III review: Small package, big appeal?

Flagship power in a compact form, but with a price that's stepped up for this generation, making it fairly expensive. The design and build is great, as are the audio and display, but the camera - while offering lots of advanced controls - isn't the most consistent or usable in a modern smartphone.

Great display and design; Good audio offering; Plenty of power in its compact form;

Phantom touches on fingerprint scanner; Camera's leaning towards pro offerings might alienate some users; Display could be brighter; Expensive;

Sony Xperia 5 III review - A top compact and light smartphone with variable focus

High-end meets compact size. With its 120-Hz OLED display in the 21:9 format measuring only 6.1 inch, the Sony Xperia 5 III is a very compact and light Snapdragon 888 smartphone. Yet the Sony device still offers the same interesting camera system as the Xperia 1 III flagship.

The Sony Xperia 5 III is distinguished by a being a competitive overall package in a very compact an...

compact and light; premium haptics; good stereo speakers; a lot of performance;

wide bezels; slow SD card slot; no wireless charging; high heat development;

Sony Xperia 5 III Review

Reliable rear camera; Well laid out Pro camera app; Decent battery life;

Screen’s atypical aspect ration causes some apps to look weird; A little expensive;

Sony Xperia 5 III review

There’s a lot to like in the Xperia 5 III, which has top specs in a compact size. It's expensive though, and despite all the hardware it's difficult to get the best out of the camera thanks to software built solely with pro users in mind.

Beautiful display; Excellent audio; Small size; IP65/58 water-resistance;

No wireless charging; Camera app is difficult to use; Overheating limits performance; Expensive;
