Sony WH-XB900N Review: The Headphones to Buy if Your Wad of Cash Totals up to Rs 16,990

Big headphones, check. Active noise cancellation, check. Good looks, check. That is, in a way, a rather solid foundation for the new Sony WH-XB900N headphones to build on. The latest set of cans joining the Sony headphone line-up.

Sony WH-XB900N EXTRA BASS Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones - Black WHXB900NB review

It’s no secret that when it comes to smartphones, Sony has had more than a few issues. However, that hasn’t stopped the Japanese tech giant from upping the ante in other categories.

The Sony WH-1000XM3 and Bose QC35ii are widely considered the gold standard for wireless noise cancelling headphones, but both these models cost well over Rs. 20,000 in India.

Technically advanced; with excellent Bluetooth codec support; Aggressive yet refined bass; Detailed and composed sound; good tuning; Comfortable; Very good battery life; Good app

Noise isolation isn't ideal; Bluetooth 4.2 instead of Bluetooth 5.0; Connection stability issues with 990kbps LDAC; Powerful bass can cause listener fatigue

Sony's Extra Bass WH-XB900N noise canceling Bluetooth headphones sound great, are low-latency, and do a good job at blocking out unwanted sound.

Impressive sound; Low latency; Google and Alexa support

Bass is a tad boomy; Pricey

The Sony WH-XB900N delivers as advertised. And unlike many other extra bass headphones I've tested in this price range, these cans offer an impressively clean profile. Furthermore, considering that the sound performance beats the WH-100XM3, which sells for a 150 bucks more, the WH-XB900N is a solid...

Wonderful sound quality

After having the headphones for two weeks I have found them to have a wonderful depth of sound to include fantastic clarity/bass and great features. I have found they are very comfortable on the ear, even after several hours use they haven't made my ears sore like other headphones can do.

Most comfortable headphones I've ever had

These are the most comfortable over ear sound cancelling headphones I've ever had. The ear cups are generously sized for my ears and the soft leatherette padding is what you would expect for a premium priced set.

Sony WH-XB900N EXTRA BASS Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones - Black WHXB900NB review

More bass and less taste than their WH-1000XM3 brothers, but these headphones are still engaging and very comfortable

Very good battery life; Good sound width and imaging; Comfortable

Active noise cancellation isn’t very effective; Slow charging; Flabby; inflated bass
