The Sony WF-C700N offer affordable active noise cancellation but lack the high-resolution audio support of the flagship WF-1000XM4
Overall the WF-C700N strike us as pretty well-judged headphones for the price ($119.99/£99.99). There's a good amount of detail and insight, a decent handle on timing and level-headed approach to sound quality that you don't uniformly hear in headphones at this level. Add to that some good features and an attractive design, and they're a pretty enticing package. It's only that plastic build quality that holds them back from being truly eye-catching - headphones don't just feel nice to use because of sound alone, and Sony has room for improvement on this front.

The $119.99 Sony WF-C700N noise-cancelling true wireless earphones are a low-cost entry in the company’s lineup that produce robust bass and work with a useful app that offers EQ. They can also deliver effective active noise cancellation (ANC), though their effectiveness highly depends on how you position them in your ears. For a bit less, the $99.99 Anker Soundcore Liberty 4 NC earphones remain our Editors’ Choice winners because of their more consistent ANC experience and similarly full-featured companion app.An Understated Design With a Cheap Feel The WF-C700N earphones, which are available in black, white, or violet, have matte exteriors with a single push-button control that takes up the bulk of their outer panels. The Sony logo appears subtly along the top edge of each earpiece. I can see the appeal of the understated design, but a plastic build makes the earpieces feel cheap. Regardless, they fit securely in my ear canal and feel comfortable over extended listening period...
The affordable Sony WF-C700N true wireless earphones have capable drivers and customizable sound, but they don't offer reliable noise cancellation.
Drivers deliver deep lows and bright highs; Customizable EQ in companion app
Inconsistent noise cancellation; Plastic design feels cheap; Weak battery life
