Sony SEL1635Z FE 16-35mm F4 ZA OSS Lens - BRAND NEW review
I've had this lens a while now and bought it primarily for wide angle underwater shots. In this regard, it's excellent. It's also sharp enough (paired with my A7riii) to be able to crop in when I've photographed a subject that would've been more suited to longer focal length.

Non-interal zooming is a disappointment and you should note 35mm is most compact while 16mm extend the lens from the barrel. I was a little surprised by this and disappointed as I primarily use it at the 16mm end for landscapes.While the all black all metal feels premium, I find this is no exception...
Pros:
- Stellar lens with good overall sharpness
- Full metal build quality
Cons:
- Not Internal Zooming
- Soft at the 35 end

Great Walk-Around Lens!
I bought this lens to be my walk around lens on a trip to Egypt, Jordan and Israel. I couldn't have been happier. The size and weight was a perfect balance with the stellar performance. Crisp focus, great color rendition and easy to compose shots at various distances.

During the introduction of the NEX system, Sony followed a rather erratic strategy regarding the introduction of new lenses. It seems as if they have learned quite a bit in the process because they are much more focused when it comes to the new FE mount.

Excellent IQ Despite Relatively Compact Size
I was looking for a high quality wide zoom for my Sony A7Riii, mainly for landscape work. The obvious candidates were the Sony f/4 or the GM f/2.8 lenses. Having checked various websites and compared test shots I bought the F4 ZA and have not been disappointed in any way.

Ideal lens for street and landscape photography
I recently moved from the A6000 to A7ii full frame. Having owned a number of lenses for APS-C, I was torn in moving to the A7 series whether I should go with primes or zooms. I mainly do landscape photography and I was hesitant to go with this zoom lens over a dedicated prime.

Purchased new lense and received an used lense!
I purchases a new Zeiss FE 16-35mm F4 lense and received an used, dirty lense with both caps, for front and back, all fell off inside the lense bag before I opened it. The lense hood was attached with the lense, just like someone had used it then returned and not bother to put it back in the right...

In the first six months following the release of the Sony A7 and A7r, many users were complaining about the lack of native lenses for the system. One year and three months later, I must praise Sony for the effort it has put into releasing more lenses for the system.
