Sony MDR-NC200D (Black)
The first thing you'd probably ask me if you were going to buy these active noise-canceling headphones is whether they're better than the the Bose QuietComfort 15 or Bose QuietComfort 3 models. The short answer is no.
Pros:
- The, are compact noise-canceling headphones with a creative design, deep bass, and adequate noise cancellation
- The headphones fold up to fit into a convenient carrying case and can still play music without the noise cancellation engaged
Cons:
- Slight
- but audible hiss with noise canceling on
- and the headphones lack an integrated microphone for making calls

Sony MDR-NC200D Noise Canceling Headphones Review
We've never been big fans of headphones that use active noise cancellation, chiefly because they mask the sound of aircraft engines, HVAC systems, computers, and other sources of ambient noise by generating noise of their own.
Pros:
- Effective active noise cancellation
- comfortable fit
Cons:
- Detectable active noise cancellation
- EQ needed to compensate for muddy sound

Sony MDR-NC200D
The Sony NC200Ds ' noise-cancelling does a good job of smoothing out the world's background noise. However, this effect is also apparent in the sound coming out of their drivers; with the tech turned on, everything sounds a bit too gentle and muffled.

Sony MDR-NC200D Digital Noise Canceling Headphones
The MDR-NC200D looks similar to the QuietComfort 3. They are both supra-aural headphones, meaning they rest on the ear instead of encircling it and sealing it off, as circumaural pairs do.
Pros:
- Highly effective noise cancellation that auto-adjusts to your environment
- Comfortable for long-term listening.
Cons:
- Distorts badly on bass-heavy songs when noise cancellation is engaged
- Uses triple-A battery despite ample room for a rechargeable compartment

Good quality sound and noise reducer but . . .
not for use with long flight. I tried this for about 4 movies in my 16 + 5 hours one-way flight and my ears were hurt after each movie because the headphone was pressing over them. I am thinking to try B*s* with about $100 more and give this to my daughter.

Too many bugs for the price!
I have been researching headphone for a couple of months. Bought these as I was leaving on a road trip. After just 2 hours my ears were very sore. Also in both regular and noise cancelling mode there is always a background humming noise, which is faint but annoying. Pretty good bass though.
