When I purchased my first Sony MILC (Mirrorless Interchangeable Lens Camera), the full frame a7R II , the first Sony lens I scheduled for review was this one, the Sony FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM Lens. Sony gained renown for their cameras, especially their sensor technology, before their lenses.

Great lens.
Lightning fast shipping and great packaging!!!The glass itself is..well u get what you pay for!!!It is razor sharp mated to a A7rii!!Very happy with this purchase!!

Just OK
Bought this to replace the 16-55mm kit lens. I'm disappointed with the relatively small improvement for the cost. For a Zeiss lens I expected much better IQ compared to the kit lens- it is a modest improvement but should be much sharper especially in the corners.

great all around lens , also like the 1.8 Zeiss as wellThis lens is perfect for a time lapse and when you're looking for different shots the zoom function is perfect, this glass will produce Sharp focused images

Big, expensive, no focus breathing, superb

(24mm, F2.8, 1/60, ISO 100) As a standard zoom lens, the Sony FE 24-70mm F2.8 GM is certainly top notch. It doesn't have that charisma of the Tamron 28-75mm F2.8 or the Sony 85mm F1.4 GM that you immediately see as soon as you take your first shot.
Pros:
- If you're looking for a standard range zoom lens that delivers excellent performance across the board, look no further
- As part of Sony's illustrious, if pricey, G Master family, the FE 24-70mm F2.8 not only fills the gap in the collection, it's also secured a high spot in the best standard zoom...
Cons:
- For all the excellent features it boasts, the FE 24-70mm F2.8 somehow feels a tad forgettable, especially next to some of its G Master brothers and particularly for a glass with $2200 price tag
- What we mean is that it doesn't have enough oomph or sex appeal.
