Sony's FE 24-105mm F4 G OSS zoom is pricier than similar lenses for other systems, but it's also a better performer.
Pros:
- 4.4x zoom range
- Constant maximum aperture
- Fast focus
- Image stabilization
- Light and compact
- Dust and splash protection.
Cons:
- Expensive
- Dimmed corners when corrections turned off
- Some edge softness at f/4 when shooting at wider angles.

My new BEST lens
I got this for my new Sony A7riii camera. This is now my very favorite lens. It takes incredibly clear and crisp pictures and the range (24-105) is perfect for my general use. I love this lens and I can see why it is a best seller for Sony.

Sony FE 24-105mm F4 G OSS Lens SEL24105G review
With a standard zoom the lens has to cover as many eventualities as possible as the photographer will demand a versatile optic. It must focus close, have a wide focal length range and a viable maximum aperture that is as fast, or bright, as possible.
Pros:
- Excellent sharpness
- Well controlled distortion
- Excellent flare resistance
- Dust and moisture resistance
- OSS system
- Excellent handling
- Quality manufacture
Cons:
- CA may need software correction

When you're talking mirrorless and everything's on the sensor, there shouldn't be back or front-focus issues, all on the sensor. But I could manually adjust or auto adjust to the center of a camera target and the focus point would be forward of that, with center a bit defocused.

If you had to choose just one lens to take with an α7 camera while travelling, this would be the one. It's a fine companion to the α7M3 (INSERT LINK) we used for our review and should be as good a fit with any of the other models in the series, as well as the α9.

Serious lens that may be the only one you really need
I bought this lens because I wanted two things: a step up in quality from my Sony 28-70mm kit lens and a greater focal range for travel. Although this lens adds quite some weight to your bag, the results are worth it.

- Great Picture Quality
Cons:
- Bulky

Reliable
I am a Lions Club Photographer, most of the time I take pfotos at night indoors. This lens make it easy to take good photos 100% of the time. Thank you Sony
