Reliable, High Quality Product
I already owned two ECM-77Bs when I bought this one from Adorama. It was to replace a Sonotrim lav that has been nothing but trouble. I really liked the audio characteristics of the Sonotrim, but it was unreliable, more sensitive to interference, and often just failed to operate.

Only mike to use with Sony transmitters
This mike has a good pattern, small enough to hide, great for the speaking vocal range, and essential for use with Sony transmitters. Sony transmitter pack a lot into their signal, (encryption, pairing signal, along with the freq.

Excellent lav mic
This is an excellent lavaliere microphone. The sound quality is crisp and there is much less audio hiss than most lav mice. Worth the extra money.
