I'm new to this type of lens, but it is awesome for outdoor shots, specifically when taking "targeted" shots. It is easy to adjust the BOCA for professional looking photos. The lens works great in all light conditions.

Excelente para tomar fotos de retratos con el fondo borroso, siempre enfoca bien y rapido, el unico detalle es que podría ser mas pequeño.
Is this lens offered or going to be offered in black? When can we expect more E mount prime lens to be available.
f 1: 8 prime

Bad copy, would not focus consistently. Knew these were prone to hunt and search as well as noisy but this one didn't want to find true focus. Returned.
over all I am very happy with this purchase, and its doing exactly what I expected from it.
easy to use
Very fast focus during indoor/low light settings (esp. compared to 18-55mm kit lens.) F/1.8 allows quicker shutter speeds, decreasing motion blur during live events, such as concerts. It is slightly heavier than 18-55mm kit lens, but worth carrying for specific shoots.
Fast / accurate auto-focus; Strong Construction

When I purchased this lens I was still kinda debating if this lens is really worth it. Because I already have a 30mm f1.4 lens that I really used but when I tried using it, it surpasses my expectations the picture quality is really nice and sharp!
Light weight; captures sharp shots and good picture quality

If you're looking for a Sony FE lens around the 50mm focal length that has a wide aperture, but don't want to break the bank, then this is a solid investment. I managed to get some really decent shots with great shallow depth of field at f/1.8.
Affordable Fe Lens; Great Shallow Dof; Lightweight; Smooth Focus Ring
Loud Autofocus Noises
Great camera overall especially in the day light. I find the focusing to let it down somewhat though especially in low light, found it focus hunting quite a bit and it became very annoying as when it did finally get the focus it was a flawless image . But for the price it's worth it
This lens is adequately sharp and a great value for the price. My biggest complaint against it is that the autofocus is often sluggish. Not a huge deal for portraits, but certainly an annoyance. At < $300, this is really a no-brainer must-own lens. #sweepstakes
