I purchased a Sony a6000 with zoom as a travel camera to slot in between my wife's Panasonic LX10 and my full frame Nikons. I got the 20mm to get better image quality than the zoom that came with the camera. I'm disappointed.

Great lens but be prepared to purchase the Ultra Wide Converter

Very easy to use for photography and video. Works very well outdoors in a landscape setting. In this context I would give it 5stars. Interior shots where space is tight, it was more limited in scope than the standard lens supplied with the Sony a5100.

A good general wide angle lens

After reading the mediocre reviews for the SEL16F28, I ended up trying this lens (SEL20F28). The lens has proved to be very handy, and I am generally happy with the photos. The photos are sharp, but low light scenes may be a little dark with some vignetting. Two jpeg photos are uploaded for review.

Sony SEL20F28 20mm f/2.8

I love this lens, in particular for shooting videos in n tie spaces.. I tasted and it gave me the look that I was searching for without spending $$$$ on a wide lens.

Sony E 20mm F2.8 Review

Sony camera owners searching for a small, light lens should take a close look at the E 20mm F2.8 ($349.99). It's an ultra-slim prime and captures a moderate wide-angle view when paired with an APS-C sensor camera like the a6400. It's a much better performer than the older 16mm F2.8, and one of our favorite lenses for the Sony system in general, earning our Editors' Choice. Ultra-Slim The E 20mm F2.8 measures just 0.8 by 2.5 inches (HD), so it barely juts out from your camera. Sony includes a compact plastic lens hood; it adds about half an inch to the height, and matches the barrel's diameter. You'll need to remove the hood to add a filter—the thread supports the 49mm thread size, which is used by many of Sony's APS-C lenses. There is no dust or splash protection, which is a feature Sony has reserved for its full-frame lenses to date. Excellent lens for low light photography.

I bought this lens used for a trip to France; I anticipated being in very old buildings with low light and no flash permitted. All of that turned out to be true and the lens performed very well. Notre Dame, for instance was dark with a great amount of detailed stone work, art work etc.

Outstanding Wide Angle Prime

This is a truly superb prime wide-angle lens, works flawlessly on a900 - full-frame wide lenses are hard to come by, but I would strongly suggest getting this. Super-sharp from f4 onwards, still delightful and fast at 2.8; great colours and depth.

Consistent Output; Lightweight; Quick Focus; Sharp Focus; Strong Construction
