The Sony 20mm f/2.8 is a prime wideangle lens that offers full-frame coverage
I purchased a Sony a6000 with zoom as a travel camera to slot in between my wife's Panasonic LX10 and my full frame Nikons. I got the 20mm to get better image quality than the zoom that came with the camera. I'm disappointed.
I bought this lens used for a trip to France; I anticipated being in very old buildings with low light and no flash permitted. All of that turned out to be true and the lens performed very well. Notre Dame, for instance was dark with a great amount of detailed stone work, art work etc.
I've tested and compared with other lenses mounted on a6500. I took the same 4K video shot in the same enviroment. Sony-Zeiss 16-70/4 Sony Kit lens 16-50 Sony 10-18 Sony 20/2.8 I've watched at all video clips on BenQ BL3201PH CAD CAM Professional Monitor 32, nVidia GTX 980.
This is a truly superb prime wide-angle lens, works flawlessly on a900 - full-frame wide lenses are hard to come by, but I would strongly suggest getting this. Super-sharp from f4 onwards, still delightful and fast at 2.8; great colours and depth.
Consistent Output; Lightweight; Quick Focus; Sharp Focus; Strong Construction
This is the third Sony lens in my collection and i have to say it is an amazing pic of glass and has now become the lens that i use for almost everything.
After reading the mediocre reviews for the SEL16F28, I ended up trying this lens (SEL20F28). The lens has proved to be very handy, and I am generally happy with the photos. The photos are sharp, but low light scenes may be a little dark with some vignetting. Two jpeg photos are uploaded for review.
I am a new photographer. I only had the Nex-7 and this lens since since November 2013. After shooting for the last six, I am finally learning just how good this lens can be.Best shots so far have been wide cityscape panoramas. I have also a few favorite up close photos inside a bar.
Easy To Use; Lightweight
Bought this to use with an A6000 to take photos indoors over the Xmas period. It worked a treat and I got some great shots. As the combo was so small I popped in my coat pocket and took it out walking where it proved great for some lovely landscape shots.
Very easy to use for photography and video. Works very well outdoors in a landscape setting. In this context I would give it 5stars. Interior shots where space is tight, it was more limited in scope than the standard lens supplied with the Sony a5100.
