Sony's PS4 is inching ever closer to release, as the company finally showed the console's hardware during its E3 2013 press conference. Up until June 10, the only part we really laid eyes on was the DualShock 4, but even then it was in the hands of others, or encased behind glass.

Short Battery Life

I like the shape and size of the new controller but that is all. The battery life is rubbish lasting only around 8 hours so you have to charge it all the time. The blue light bar is a pain as it reflects of your TV and why do we have a touchpad? The worst thing is the new thumbsticks.

Yes – it is just another PS4 controller – but the (obvious) thing that sets this one apart from the others is its awesome magma red colour – bought this as a second controller, so now I can game with the flatties!

The magma red is a great colour for a controller. It's just a shame that unlike the white version the red only makes up the front half of the unit.

The product was great and easy to use. Once I took it out the box it was ready to be used.

Simply criminal

Unlike Microsoft, Sony has never released official Windows drivers for the DualShock 3 and 4 – it considers them PlayStation exclusives and isn't interested in helping you use them on a PC. But it is possible – if you're prepared to put up with a bit of hackery to get it there.

This review will be short and sweet. Simply put this controller is excellent, when you're holding the controller it feels great and extremely comfortable. As a previous xbox owner, I thought you couldn't get a better controller and didn't put much thought into it.
