Rugged & Sturdy For Car Trips: Sony 16:9 Widescreen LCD DVD Player

I cannot say enough good things about this compact LCD DVD player. I looked around for a portable DVD player that could pass the kid's test. It's small and weighs only four pounds , but it is tough. The kids get bored in the car and while we are on errands.

Sony Portable 8-inch DVD/CD Player DVP-FX810

I'm a consummate lover of films. Besides reading, I also have a growing list of to-watch movies. I used to think visiting the theater every weekend is a frivolous form of entertainment. But when I got addicted to watching movies in my laptop, it was unstoppable.

Recommend this. It works great & many dift ways

I was surprised to the many ways to use this tv. The screen turns 360°. It can be used in car, at home, or anywhere. Love it! Got it in good, working condition.,

Just what I expected

This is my third player in 5 years. Love the flat battery. Other player's hook on batteries don't always lock on and make traveling with it bulky. And five hours without a charge. True, there can be a glare but it's a minor quibble. I've seen the same player at almost $50 more in stores.

"The Force Was Not Strong on this One"

The Sony DVP-FX810 is one of few portable DVD players from Sony, which boasts a 3 hour battery life , the ability to turn and tilt the screen 180 degrees, turning it into a tablet player , and a sleek fresh design. So obviously, I saw it, and decided, hey why not give it a go.

Nice look; nice to tilt screen; good battery

cant share; poor brightness

Decent player, but it has problems

All in all, it is a great player. We use it more than it is probably meant to be used. However, I had hoped that it would be trouble free for a couple of years. We just purchased the next model up hoping that these flaws have been fixed.

Glass covered screen - great for kids that like to man-handle everything in front of them; Long battery life - great for long trips with kids that have short attention spans; Large remote - great for old people with bad eye

Sound is weak; Depends on the movie being played; Childrens dvds tend to be loud enough, but adult movies are a little hard to hear; My unit lasted about three months before it started freezing; Now it freezes periodically.

As a professional filmmaker this 'TOY' is very useful ...

When you work with camera's on cranes and dollies or steadicam setups ... you look for a monitor ... well I sampled half a dozen 'PRO' units with RGB inputs and heavy batteries ... then finding this 'CONSUMER' unit in a shop around the corner ...
