DSLR quality that fits in your pocket
After researching cameras for over 6 months, Sony released the RX100 and it was a perfect fit for me. I am traveling to Argentina to do mission work for over a year and I wanted DSLR quality pictures and full HD 1080p video that could fit in my pocket. I have exactly what I want in this camera.
Pros:
- extremely portable
- good build
- tons of features
Cons:
- scratches easily

SLRs are only for Santa Claus
The RX100 from Sony is simply the best point and shoot camera in the word today, the best point and shoot every built. Don't trust me? Just google it out and then you will. I'll keep the review and comparison short, won't get much technical, so just 2 things for the RX100 : 1) SLR quality images,...

Great Compact Camera for anyone!
I was looking for a compact camera for everyday use, to complement my DSLR as the DSLR is too heavy to carry everywhere. I am so glad to have gotten this camera, it has impressed me so far. The colours on jpeg has turned out very natural, just the way I like it.

Sony's high-end RX100 has been hailed as the best compact digital camera of all time and, well, we can see the appeal.
The phrase "DSLR-quality image" is bandied about too often in the world of compact cameras, in marketing materials, on retail boxes, and even within some independent reviews. These claims are almost always accompanied by qualifiers and caveats, and disappointment follows.

efficiency and travel friendly
This compact RX 100 define my needs. I used to have a DSLR camera and I feel like a professional photographer but never had the time to learn the basic. But this packet size gadget will not just let you travel light but it will also give you the same action that professional DSLR users have.
Pros:
- everything in it
- compact and travel friendly
Cons:
- flash is a little too complicated to handle.

I've just got mine, but it's definitely a great piece of kit. I've always been a point-and-shoot camera user, who travels a lot, and wanted to get better images without lugging a big chunky SLR everywhere I go. I think this camera will fill a much needed gap in the market for people like myself.
Pros:
- Pocketable size with superior image quality
- HD Movies.
Cons:
- Zoom is limited (x3.6

Your pocket-sized 'DSLR'
Have had the RX100 for nearly four months now and am staggered by the image quality. Compacts have disppointed in the past mainly due to their focussing speed. No problem with this little beauty. It fits into a jeans pocket with no problems at all, and it's very disrete indeed.
Pros:
- Durable
- Great Features
- Great Picture Quality
- Lightweight

We bought this camera to replace our older one Sony Powershot G-12 (which we lost). And to our surprise I loved it from the time I took into my hands. This is just simply one great pocketable camera that will out-run most of the bigger competitors in the yard.

90% of a dslr
Haven't had a point and shoot for a good 5 years at least. I've had a Nikon d90 since its release and day to day pictures have been shot with our iPhones. The problem with iPhones is the small sensor, lack of zoom and not very good light sensitivity.
