Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100
The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 is the point-and-shoot camera that many an enthusiast has dreamed of. It's got an image sensor that's the same size as the mirrorless Nikon J1 and a 3.6x zoom lens that opens up to f/1.8 on the wide end, all packed into a camera that can slide into your back pocket.

The Sony DSC-RX100 has surpassed all our expectations for what a compact digital camera can do. It's tiny enough to be carried in a pants pocket (even if you prefer a tight style), yet it can produce image quality that some digital SLRs can't come close to.
Pros:
- Excellent image quality
- High ISO performance
- Small size
Cons:
- Menu could be a little better
- Some trouble with auto exposures
- Some noticeable lens distortion

Sony RX100 Review: Single-Handedly Makes Point-and-Shoots Relevant Again
When the Sony RX100 was announced, its one-inch sensor and f/1.8 aperture seemed too good to be true. Near-DSLR power packed into a body the size of a compact point-and-shoot camera? What's the catch? Turns out, this camera is a significant achievement for Sony.

[REVIEW-SONY DSC RX100 compact camera]
This 20 megapixel camera with a 28–100mm (equiv), Zeiss-branded lens has a sensor area 2.6 times larger than its competitors. The 75mm LCD is a brilliant high resolution (1.2m dot) viewing screen. Function controls are small but well laid out. The menu system is clear and intuitive to use.

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 ($649) may look like just another compact camera, but if you were to pry off the lens and take a look inside, you'd see what makes it stand out from the crowd.

Sony Cyber-shot RX100 Digital Camera Review
Too often in the world of compact cameras, the phrase " DSLR -quality image" is bandied about on marketing materials, retail boxes, and even the written words of reviewers like us. It's paired with qualifiers like " DSLR image quality in your pocket ," and most of the time, doesn't actually apply to...
Pros:
- DSLR -style images with depth of field
- Phenomenal sharpness
- Extensive manual control
Cons:
- Main control ring needs improvement

Sony RX100 Review
Given the sensor size the the solid performance of the RX100, I can't see a better point and shoot camera on the market right now. The RX100 is fast and produces extremely solid images for a camera that easily fits in your pocket.
