Following on the heels of the original Sony RX100, the updated Mark II version of the compact camera seems to have latched on to a successful format.

The Sony DSC-RX100M II is the best pocket camera money can buy. While it may look like ‘just' a point-and-shoot camera, the RX100M II is a mobile photography powerhouse that will please both amateur and pro shooters.

I'm just not sure what the competition is with this one. HIGH Quality pics, better than average video, great glass. Sharp as a tack. Manual control for those who wish, certainly good enough to use only on Auto, though.

The RX100 II performs much the same as its RX100 predecessor, turning out some of the best image quality we've seen from a compact camera. With the addition of Wi-Fi connectivity and a BSI sensor, it's at the top of its class in terms of performance and features. With a few caveats regarding the shooting experience, it's a clear class-leader.
