There is nothing to not like about this player. I've teamed this up with my DENON AV2313 amp and Panasonic PT-AT6000 projector and the experience is mind blowing!! 3D playback is seemless with a vibrant image.

The BDP-S790 is Sony's current top-of-the-range Blu-ray player (until the BDP-S5100 is launched next month, that is) and as such it's crammed with all of Sony's most advanced features and tricks.
Generous feature list; Stunning pictures; Slick operating system
No DivX support; Menu not ideal for web content selection; Not cheap
In the price range around 200EUR, it's possibly the best choice
4k resolution is still a long way off from replacing lowly 1080p as the new standard for high-definition, but Sony's latest BDP-S790 Blu-ray player doesn't mind standing on the cutting edge.
Sony's top-end Blu-ray player for 2013 is largely unchanged from 2012's top model, but this isn't a bad thing as the S790 was one of the most comprehensive Blu-ray players of last year.
After upgrading my television in the basement to a Pioneer Plasma 60" flat screen, we decided to purchase the Sony BDP-S790 Blu-ray Player . Now the last DVD player I purchased had a combination DVD-VHS Player.
High Quality; Great detail; and Lots of Features
Remote; software updates; Load Time
The latest flagship in Sony's Blu-ray player fleet is surprisingly self-effacing. It's priced at just over 200 notes and has a relatively generic design (slim, black, gently curved in places), yet it packs a forward-looking feature set that few players at any price point can match.
Powerful AV performance, with good SD upscaling; excellent IPTV selection; wide multimedia file support
Lightweight build quality; Xross Media Bar is a clunky way to navigate the Sony Entertainment Network
As we have come to expect from Sony, the S790 is a thing of beauty with an elegant design, curved matte black chassis and brushed metal effect on the...
Untampered 1080p Playback; Excellent scaling of DVDs; Impressive handling of interlaced signals; SACD playback; Built-in WiFi; Extensive VoD Services,...
Disc loading is slow - especially DVDs; No 7.1 analogue audio outputs
Sony's put the lot into the BDP-790, and it shows. Its picture performance is simply outstanding, as good as that of any player available, and it's an enjoyable listen too. It's also great to use, either with its simple, effective remote handset (take note, Panasonic) or via its excellent control...
Packs some serious image quality; Sounds great; too; Comes with a number of useful apps
Stylish but not radical; Jury's out on the 4k upscaling
Sony single-handedly won the format war with its timely release of the PlayStation 3. Up until the PS3 hit the market in November 2006, HD DVD was beginning to gain the upper hand with disc and player sales.
