Best camera I've ever owned.

A great piece of kit. I have had the A77ii for a while now, and it's the best camera I've ever owned. I don't want to go into technical specifications too much here, there are plenty of good comparison sites out there with far better capabilities for doing that.

The Best SLT/SLR Camera I Have Ever Owned!

Everything about this camera is amazing! Images come out brilliant and very sharp. Video is great at 1080p and tracks very well. The most astonishing feature I like about this camera, is a feature called, Focus Peaking This enables the user to perfectly focus the subject into view using the entire...

Close to Perfection

Let me start by saying that I do mostly wildlife and nature photography as a hobby. I started digital photography many years ago with the sony a300 and a200. Crutchfield service and shipping is also 1st class. Since then I have upgraded to the sony a57, (2) a77's and now the Sony a77Mk2.
Pros:
  • Great image quality
  • more AF points (79) which beats most of it's competitors
  • Better, faster and more accurate AF
  • Face detection with eye focus
  • better ISO performance which finally comes closer to competition
  • lots of programmable options for the rear panel buttons
  • Focus peaking
  • AF range...
Cons:
  • Not too many but I will nit pick: GPS was removed (available on a77) battery life is much less than competition and worse than a77 (abt 400-450 shots if careful and use max power save)
  • does not have intervolometer for time lapse
  • wi-fi app for cell phone is lacking in features
  • clunky and somewhat...

Meet my expectations

I bought the sony in order to replace my canon 60d. I was satisfied with my canon, but this model was not fast enough in HD quality. The sony is a lot faster and i can take multiple shots without waiting for the camera to process the image, as long as you have the right SD card.
Pros:
  • Easy To Use
  • Fast Shutter Speed
  • Good Image Quality
  • Quiet
Cons:
  • Short Battery Life

Bought my A77II with the VG for $900, could not resist! Free shipping and no sales tax sealed the deal. Did not want to upgrade from my original A77 but now I am glad I did!! The increased focusing speed and being able to customize most of the buttons, more then make up for the loss of GPS and the...

(This review is for the Sony A7R ll, just realized this camera is not on here yet )I bought this camera after suffering a rotator cuff tear and have impending surgery (This is my 2nd time ) so I decided to switch to much lighter gear and can even shoot this camera with one hand if needed.
Pros:
  • Light weight
  • Vintage look
  • easy to learn
  • uses adapter
  • quick focus with native lens
  • so easy to carry around all day
  • very sharp pictures with the sony 55 f/1.8 (Only lens I have bought so far ) Images are just as good as any DSLR I have used Includes 2 batteries Great looking camera
  • well built
Cons:
  • Not many wide aperture lens choices
  • hunts with adapter
  • viewfinder shows pic right after taking and can be a little confusing coming from a DSLR
  • pricey
  • batteries not the best

No 1 APS-C sensor size camera with great AF

I've owned Sony A77M2 for half year now. I have to say that I did a lot of research prior to make my decision and I was having on my mind Nikon D7100 and Canon 70D until I've seen this one... And I have to say I'm definitely satisfied with it's performance so far.

Sony is not a company that could ever be accused of not trying. Eight years on from buying Konica Minolta's camera business, Sony has produced more than forty interchangeable lens cameras based on at least three fundamental design approaches: conventional DSLRs, fixed-mirror SLT cameras and...
Pros:
  • 12 fps burst with AF-C is useful for fast action
  • Continuous AF is effective during still and video capture
  • Face detection works well
  • Good build quality and overall ergonomics
  • SteadyShot is useful in both still and video capture
  • Ability to record video using XAVC S codec
  • Fully articulating LCD
Cons:
  • Lock-on AF functionality is hit or miss
  • Noisy high ISO images
  • Heavy noise reduction in JPEG
  • 12 fps mode offers little to no control over shutter speed and aperture
  • Only 15 cross-type AF points
  • limited to a central portion of the frame
  • No way to quickly check focus in image review
  • since only...

Sony Alpha 77 II DSLR Review

The Sony A77 II is the replacement for the A77, which made its debut in 2011. The A77 II uses a new image sensor with 6000x4000 pixels (same resolution as the A77) that, while sharing the same resolution as its forerunner, does have a new micro lens system that captures more light on each single...
Pros:
  • + Very fast AF system
  • + Many AF modes and individual AF settings
  • + High-resolution viewfinder
  • + Robust body
  • + Swivel LCD
  • + Full HD videos with high frame rates
Cons:
  • Con
  • - Somewhat bulky design

Awesome Camera

This camera was brought as an upgrade to my Sony a37. I've remained with the Sony product range because I have a bunch of compatible lenses, the great value for money that Sony cameras offer, my preference for an electronic viewfinder over an optical view finder plus I enjoy using the in camera...
Pros:
  • Great Features
  • Great Picture Quality
  • Simple Controls
