Sony Alpha A6300

This camera is considered one of Sony’s mid-range models—with the Sony A6000 as its lower counterpart, and the Sony A7 II as it’s higher level counterpart. The specs on this camera aim to impress even the fussiest of photographers. It’s a great looking camera too and is easy to handle & operate. Let’s look at some of the other features.

The battery on this camera is also a feature worth mentioning due to its staying power during your shoots. Your camera battery should be able to last approximately 400 photos in, before the battery needs recharging.

The Sony Alpha A6300 has a 24MP sensor with a shooting rate of 11 frames per second. There’s a built-in flash which has an incredible sync speed of 1/160 seconds. The AF system on the camera is hybrid, and boasts an impressive 425 PDAF points. Among other features, one more is worth mentioning; the OLED 2.36M-dot with a 120fps refresh option which will lend a hand to the quality of your photographs.

In addition to these photography features, the Sony Alpha A6300 also has some convenient video recording abilities. 4K is the hero here, with resolution settings of 3840 x 2160 (30p) and 1920 x 1080 (120p/60p). Although the camera is primarily designed for regular photography, you’ll enjoy the quality of these videos as well.

Mirrorless to Impress: Sony A6300 16-50mm Kit Review

If you have no prior commitments to another photo system, the A6300 won't disappoint you for the money - but a lack of long focal lengths and a slightly-flawed approach means this camera isn't ready to replace everyone's SLR just yet.

Very pleased with this camera after a week of use! Is really a camera that keeps the measure even though it has a few years in the neck.

Sony Alpha 6300 Review

Sony waited more than four years between the release of its flagship APS-C Alpha NEX-7 ( at Amazon) and its replacement, the Alpha 6300 ($999.99, body only). The new model doesn't offer a boost in resolution, but it enhances the excellent autofocus system found in the midrange Alpha 6000 ($549.99 at Dell Technologies) and also adds a weather-sealed design, 4K video capture, and a crisper EVF. It's our Editors' Choice for premium mirrorless cameras, ousting the Samsung NX1 ( at Amazon) , a camera we no longer recommend buying due to the questionable outlook for the future of the Samsung NX system. Even if the NX1 comes back from the dead, the Alpha 6300 is an standout performer in its own right, and one that's priced $500 less. DesignThe Alpha 6300 ($1,099.00 at Amazon)  looks a lot like the Alpha 6000 and the NEX-7. Available in black only, it's a squat mirrorless camera with a corner EVF, a tilting LCD, and a modest handgrip. It measures 2.6 by 4.7 by 1.9 inches (HWD) and weigh...

The Sony Alpha 6300 adds weather-sealing and 4K video to the popular midrange Alpha 6000. It's the premium mirrorless camera that Sony photographers have been waiting for.

Quick autofocus; 11.1fps burst shooting; 4K video capture; Crisp EVF; Tilting rear display; Strong high ISO performance; Built-in flash; Wi-Fi with NFC; Weather-sealed body

Omits touch-screen support; Lacks in-body stabilization; Dense menu system; Some apps must be purchased; Doesn't include external charger

Sony a6300

Our bottom line for the Sony a6300 4K mirrorless interchangeable lens camera is that this is one superb, well priced shooter for almost any consumer or even prosumer needs. If you want high performance and especially high low light performance on a budget, we strongly recommend the a6300.

Excellent high resolution photos; Amazingly fast Auto Focus at 0.05 seconds; 425 phase detection points; 4K video with no pixel binning; Tough; rugged build; Great price

Difficult to manually set a focus point; clumsy main control button/dial layout

Great APS-C sensor-size camera - Full featured at fair price

I am a very amateur photographer with an interest in dark sky/astrophotography. My daughter has the A6000 and I stepped up to the A6300. She loved the A6000, but it missed a couple of features that I was looking for: 1) Rapid shooting (not for astro); 2) silent mode (no shutter...

I have had three Sony cameras and all have failed. I initially had a Sony Alpha 55 which failed after 12 months. Sony's service was subpar and after quite a while I finally got it back and it is still used by my daughter.
