Forget most of what you might read, this game is pretty good. The story is a bit cheesy, but then the same can be said of similar games and war films. Engaging Story Line; Gameplay

I agree with the others, this game is satisfying in every aspect, excellent graphics, great storyline, weapons used carried over into cut-scenes. bought it when it came out, and still love to play it!

Very good graphics, good environments, nice to have a determined female solder in the campaign, than just all men, no online play, but good single player.

The world is a troubled place and it's a sad fact of life that conflict seems inevitable. Fortunately there are people willing to lay their life on the line so people like you and me can rest easily at night.

In conclusion, SOCOM: 4 (Special Forces) is without a doubt the next true sequel to Zipper's beloved franchise. Although I may be a SOCOM fan at heart, this definitely is one of the very few multiplayer games on the PS3 that has the potential to last a very long time competitively.

I did not let some of the negative reviews on here put me off buying this game. It seems difficult to please most people nowadays, they bring out a beta (a very very toned down version of the online MP) to iron out any issues prior to release and people stupidly start slating the game and giving bad...

SOCOM 4 may not propel the first-person shooter category forward in any meaningful fashion but it does offer a quality online experience.

Gimmicky use of Move support; harsh learning curve for new players; some hit detection issues when playing solo; AI is unpredictable - particularly in stealth missions
