Skullcandy Crusher Wireless Over Ear Headphones - Black S6CRW-K591 review

“Music You Can Feel” is Skullcandys motto. And you can take that literally, because when it comes to “feeling” music, hardly any of the American Lifestyle-Companies are kidding. While others give their headphones a modern bass tuning, Skullcandy simply builds a fat subwoofer into the earcups, which...

The sound of doom goes BOOM BOOM BOOM

The Skullcandy Crusher promises bass you can feel, and that's exactly what it delivers. With the bass driver turned to max, music certainly loses some of its texture; upper notes on guitars, flutes, and the like really get lost in the shuffle. And there are other bones to pick, too.

Skullcandy Crusher

The Skullcandy Crusher are rather unusual headphones. As well as a normal headphone driver, they use a separate subwoofer in each ear called the Sensation55, powered by an AA battery. This is designed to blast your brain with low-end power. And it sure does.

Skullcandy’s latest bass-shaking Crusher headphones come equipped with ANC - but they’re not without their faults

Sensory bass is great fun; Stylish; Personalised sound profiles

ANC is poor; Unbalanced sound; Touch sensitivity is over-sensitive

Skullcandy Crusher ANC Review

Skullcandy made a name for itself with cool, stylish, bass-forward headphones that all have one thing in common: a relatively affordable price. So it's safe to say we are intrigued by the Crush ANC, a $319.99 pair of noise-cancelling Bluetooth headphones priced only slightly lower than the $399.95 industry-leading Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700. Skullcandy's headphones feature adjustable bass response with haptic vibrations, which are undeniably cool, but the ANC simply isn't on the same level as other models in this price range. Design Available in black or dark red models, the circumaural (over-ear) headphones feature an eggshell-like finish and extensive memory foam cushioning in the earpads and the underside of the headband. Other than a small Skullcandy skull logo on either side of the headband, the design flourishes are kept to a minimum—most of the language printed on the outer panels can only be seen from up close, and at an angle, it seems to disappear. Internally, ...

The Skullcandy Crusher ANC headphones deliver seriously enhanced, adjustable bass levels with haptic feedback, but you can get stronger noise cancellation for the price.

Powerful audio performance with adjustable bass depth and haptic vibration; Solid mic clarity; Can be used passively with included audio cable

Expensive; Merely decent noise cancellation; Sound signature is far from accurate

Great if you have a small to medium head and love bass over all else, but otherwise not worth the money

Very powerful bass

Uncomfortable for larger heads; mediocre noise isolation; average clarity; Uncomfortable for larger heads; mediocre noise isolation; average clarity; Uncomfortable for larger heads; mediocre noise isolation; average clarity
