Black and Incredible. Wow, I don't know how they could ever improve on perfection. This is an amazing case Ive had for many years.
The case is incredibly easy to work with, the filters keep it clean and easy to vacuum, its silent, beautiful, and I haven't found a single thing I don't like; Perfect
It can't change into Optimus Prime
I wanted to build a HTPC that would not only stream content, play media I have saved, play games on the TV and also act as a NAS for the rest of the devices in the household. This case has spacious room, inside I mounted 7 hard drives, 2 solid state drives, one M.2 drive (27 TB of drive space...
I returned this for a different case at a different E-tailer. While I'm sure the case would have worked fine otherwise--the fact that the two 5.25" drive bays use that inefficient flip-down face-plate and can't be removed letting the drive sit flush with the front of the case was a killer for me.
It seems that each time I find a quality HTPC case, SilverStone has to come along and shake things up. The release of their GD06 HTPC case provided a great option for those that want a high quality HTPC case without spending a lot of money.
The home theater PC (HTPC) market is still very big and almost everyone I know these days have some
– Support for a total of 10 hard drives; – Sleek look; – Easy installation; – Support for mATX; ATX and EATX motherboards; – 3 included cooling fans with fan filters
– Very hard to connect optical drives with large CPU coolers installed
This HTPC chassis mimics a high-end A/V component and has massive storage for its size. It's a very sound buy for a home video server or other storage-slanted HTPC build.
Elegant design; Substantial build quality for the price; Massive capacity for 3.5-inch drives; Exceptional cooling options for an HTPC case
Heavy; 5.25-inch drive bays are usable only with optical drives
The SilverStone Grandia GD08 HTPC Case is a mammoth case which is perfect for a hardcore gamer. It fits video cards that are up to 13.6 inches in length, has lots of fans, plenty of drive bays, tons of room to work, stylish and has excellent build quality.
I bought this case to build a steambox/HTPC; In this respect it was great, easy to build in, and it runs quiet. However the lack of anywhere to mount a single 120mm radiator I found an oversight. I ended up modding the top of the case to insert a 120mm hole, and the relevant mounting points.
KitGuru says: An elegant case which proves that bigger isn't always better!
Elegant design; Competitively priced; 3 fans included; Abundance of drive bays; Supports ATX and E-ATX hardware; Decent cooling
No fan controller; No tool-less installation methods; Fans could be better quality
