This HTPC chassis mimics a high-end A/V component and has massive storage for its size. It's a very sound buy for a home video server or other storage-slanted HTPC build.

Elegant design; Substantial build quality for the price; Massive capacity for 3.5-inch drives; Exceptional cooling options for an HTPC case

Heavy; 5.25-inch drive bays are usable only with optical drives

Silverstone Grandia GD08 HTPC Case Review

KitGuru says: An elegant case which proves that bigger isn't always better!

Elegant design; Competitively priced; 3 fans included; Abundance of drive bays; Supports ATX and E-ATX hardware; Decent cooling

No fan controller; No tool-less installation methods; Fans could be better quality

SilverStone Grandia GD08 Review

It seems that each time I find a quality HTPC case, SilverStone has to come along and shake things up. The release of their GD06 HTPC case provided a great option for those that want a high quality HTPC case without spending a lot of money.

SilverStone Grandia Series GD08 HTPC Case Review

The home theater PC (HTPC) market is still very big and almost everyone I know these days have some

– Support for a total of 10 hard drives; – Sleek look; – Easy installation; – Support for mATX; ATX and EATX motherboards; – 3 included cooling fans with fan filters

– Very hard to connect optical drives with large CPU coolers installed

Pros

This is the best HTPC case I have found, very nice to build in. It has a black brushed aluminum finish so it fits in perfectly with your home theater gear. The design/layout is well thought out, no wasted space if you intended to completely fill it.

Aesthetics; USB 3.0; Capacity; Useful User Manual (unlike most manufacturer manuals

Price (well worth it though

SilverStone Grandia GD08 HTPC Case

SilverStone makes many different sizes and styles of HTPC cases. The chassis we'll be taking a look at today is their Grandia GD08 which supports a full-size ATX motherboard and power supply along with dual optical drives and as many as eight 3?" and two 2?" hard drives.

I can't praise this case highly enough, it is almost perfect. Solidly built, loads of room inside, plenty of cooling and even room for a Noctua tower cooler with 2x92mm fans. My one little gripe is with the front flaps for the optical drives...

Great Case, Lacks modern Features

I bought this case to build a steambox/HTPC; In this respect it was great, easy to build in, and it runs quiet. However the lack of anywhere to mount a single 120mm radiator I found an oversight. I ended up modding the top of the case to insert a 120mm hole, and the relevant mounting points.
