Want to get photographers' attention? Put "f/1.4" in the model name of your lens. Pair that extreme wide aperture with a highly useful 24mm focal length, arguably best-available 24mm image quality and an attractive, highly functional design and you have a lens destined for success.

Image Quality aside (which is super sharp from my experience with the EF/MC-11 combo), the focus seems much better on FE mount than my adapted 24. I Have 2 A9's so set them to identical settings and did a quick non-scientific test in a VERY dark room (think I was at 60 shutter wide open at 3200...

Sigma has long been a leader in the third-party lens market, producing an astounding array of glass that's compatible with major DSLR systems from Nikon and Canon (plus their own camera line) as well mirrorless and other camera manufacturers.

When I bought this lens - I was really hesitant. For the price and off brand - I feared aberration, noise and slow focus. To my surprise this lens not only focus quickly, its quiet and takes amazing photos. It's the best lens I own (disclosure: I'm an amateur photographer )

I have had a lot of lenses, and with time, I just keep 3 for my D800: One of those is this Sigma 24/1,4. The two others are the new Nikon 300/4 and the traditional Nikon 105 macro, but with this 24 art, sigma is to my point of view at the same level as Nikon, and much less expensive.

Technically there are still a lot of aspects which needs to be covered and it ll take time. But in the interim, the lens works like a dream, absolutely silent while focussing and shots are outrageously sharp.

I ordered this lens with the Sigma USB dock due to worrying about the focus being out of calibration after reading forums talking about this. As it turns out there was no need to worry at all. Focus is spot on on a Nikon D750 SLR body.

I bought this lens 2 months ago and have 3 other wide angle lenses that rate in the top of all reviews . The sigma 24mm f1.4 art is the best lens ive ever owned its so so sharp I have not even used the docking station that I own because its sharper than anything simply amazing hands down it deserves...

This is more of a preview as I have yet to get my hands on this lens to test it out. I am however very excited about seeing how this lens performs given the quality and sharpness of the previous two prime ART series lenses from Sigma. ....watch this space!
