Sigma 24mm f/1.4 DG HSM | A ("Art") - Full Format Review / Lens Test
Sigma keeps on rolling out more "Art" (professional grade) series lenses - obviously with quite some success as you can also conclude from our previous reviews of Sigma Art lenses. Slowly but steadily Sigma has gained quite a reputation in the professional community as well.

Sigma's Art range of prime lenses is among the most sought after on the market. Not only do they offer good value for money, they also display stunning optics and excellent design. The 24mm, which works on full-frame or crop sensor Nikons, Canons and now Sonys, features 15 elements in 11 groups.

Amazing quality
When I bought this lens - I was really hesitant. For the price and off brand - I feared aberration, noise and slow focus. To my surprise this lens not only focus quickly, its quiet and takes amazing photos. It's the best lens I own (disclosure: I'm an amateur photographer )

Seems to have much better focus than mc-11 adapted canon mount version I have
Image Quality aside (which is super sharp from my experience with the EF/MC-11 combo), the focus seems much better on FE mount than my adapted 24. I Have 2 A9's so set them to identical settings and did a quick non-scientific test in a VERY dark room (think I was at 60 shutter wide open at 3200...

I have had a lot of lenses, and with time, I just keep 3 for my D800: One of those is this Sigma 24/1,4. The two others are the new Nikon 300/4 and the traditional Nikon 105 macro, but with this 24 art, sigma is to my point of view at the same level as Nikon, and much less expensive.
