Great lens to have in the kit.

This is a great lens for Sport, Wildlife and even some portrait photography. The lens can get a little heavy after a while and a tripod is recommended. I love the feel and and the close up shoots I can get without intruding in my subjects face.

I did a whole lot of research before deciding to buy this baby. Oh my !!! This is fun to shoot with. I will be keeping this lens for a long while unless they come out with a new one for the same price that is better but I don't know how you can make this thing better.

Sigma 150-500mm f5-6.3 DG OS HSM

The ‘DG' after the Sigma's name indicates that it can fit both 35mm film cameras and DSLRs. The ‘OS' stands for Sigma's own Optical Stabiliser technology, which uses moving elements within the lens to counter camera shake. The ‘HSM' stands for Sigma's HyperSonic Motors, which are used for autofocus.

my wife uses this lens on her canon 1100d camera.after reading reviews about the weight i was a bit hesitant to purchase the lens, but had no need to worry, carries it around with her attached to the camera for most of the day(she is only 5feet tall and 8.5 stone).takes some getting used to but we

Great value. Decent lens. Poor judgement!! The worst customer service.

This is a great value for a long lens!! BUT!!!!!! The price you pay does not include Sigmas' approval for what you may think is a defect. We have all heard of the term "creeping"... referring to a lens that is set at a distance... then drifts...

Sigma APO 150-500mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM Lens – Review

When you take a look at a decent telephoto zoom lens reaching 500mm in focal length you expect it to be weighty, and Sigma's APO 150-500mm lens is no exception. This lens is designed to work on full-frame cameras and it's easy to see why once it's mounted, as it really needs a weighty camera body to...

Great focal range; Overall sharp images; Good price

Maximum aperture f5.6-f.3; Weighty

Extremely Heavy, But It Has Its...

So far the lens works great. It is a little slow in lower light but not as bad as most people. The one negative thing is the cost of filters. If you want or think you need a filter spend the money and get a high quality one.

Sigma 150-500mm f5-6.3 DG OS HSM

The Sigma 150-500mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM is a stabilized super-telephoto zoom lens; indeed it's one of only two stabilized telephoto zoom lenses reaching 500mm focal length, the other being Sigma's own 50-500mm 4.5-6.3 DG OS HSM.

Sigma 150-500mm f/5-6.3

My caution is that most people trying to shoot things at long distances underestimate the importance of getting closer.

Just purchased the 150-500mm Sigma for my wife's Nikon. I felt compelled to test it against the 3 similar lenses we have. Here are the results, in order of image quality: At 300mm, f8: Sigma 150-500 Nikkor 300 f/4 Nikkor 70-300 vr Nikkor 55-300 vr The 300 f/4 and the Sigma were very close.

My tests show better than the Nikon 55-300 vr; 70-300 vr; 300 f4 (with and without a 1.4x TC
