Sigma 150-500mm f5-6.3 RF DG OS lens

The 150-500 mm is Sigma 's very popular long telezoom lens with optical image stabilisation. It comes with fittings both for Canon AF and Nikon AF. Its minimum focusing distance is 220 cm so it is not a lens for enclosed spaces, but more for the grand outdoors.

Auto-focus problems

I bought this lens back in September 2013 and it was great until this month when the auto-focus went. When I Googled the lens I found out that the lens has a history of auto-focus problems, when you start typing Sigma 15...

Superb lens

I purchased this lens to go with my Nikon D5300 and it works perfectly with it. I took some photos of aircraft and the results are off the hook. Definitely one of the best decisions I have made in a very long time. I was initially concerned about the weight.

Sigma 150-500mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM APO

This is the third Sigma 500mm zoom that I've owned. The first was their non-OS 50-500mm, and then their 50-500mm OS and finally the 150-500mm OS. I use the 150-500mm on Nikons, including a D3, D700, D7100, D300 and D2X.

Reach; Silent motor; fast target acquisition speed; reasonable price; sturdy build; lightweight for its size

Some may find it "plasticy", but the use of plastic keeps it both lighter and less expensive; MF only with a TC

Sigma 150–500mm f/5–6.3 APO DG OS HSM

Sigma continues to innovate with their 150–500mm f/5–6.3 APO DG OS HSM ultra-telephoto lens. While designed for full-frame sensors, it's equally at home when used with smaller APS-C sensors. That's a lot of flexibility for one lens.

Wide focal length latitude; optical stabilization; reasonably priced

Not the best choice for consistent low-light work

I looked at and tried Canon 100-400 and compared shots taken with the Sigma 150-500. Currently using a Canon 40D body, I decided to get the Sigma 150-500 and very happy I did. Beautiful lens and not to heavy but I would recommend using a monopod to save your arms and wrists from the strain due to...

Beautiful -- but HEAVY

First of all let me state that they have a sort of decieving picture of this lens that makes it look sort of smaller than it is in real life -- READ the SPECS!!! It arrived and the box size right away made me face facts that this was not a smaller lightweight Tele Lens. It weighs 5 lbs!

Carry Strap; Consistent Output; Durable; Easily Interchangeable; Fast / accurate auto-focus; Heavy Duty Carry Case; Lens lock; Nice Bokeh; Strong Construction; Tripod Mount

Bulky; Heavy

Decent lens at a good price

For this price those lens fits the bill. I have not tried them out in multiple conditions yet, but for the price they cannot be beaten.

Great Lense

This lens adds great versatility to photography, great build and ease of use, it is rugged and takes exceptional clear shots. The only down fall to this lens is it's weight and takes a bit of getting used to.

Easy to use; Build quality
